MedEd Club Coordinator (Part-time)
Description: Under the direction of the Director of Community Health, the Part-Time MedEd Club Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the implementation and management of the MedEd Club project within Glenn County High Schools. This position involves coordinating club activities, facilitating educational workshops, liaising with school staff and healthcare professionals, and ensuring the successful operation of the program.

Work location: 1905 Notre Dame Blvd., Suite 200, Chico, CA with remote/field work in Glenn County, CA.
Duration: This is a temporary grant-funded position from May 2024 to May 2025. Future employment will depend on the availability of grant funds.
Essential duties and responsibilities:
Program Coordination:
- Coordinate the establishment and operation of MedEd Clubs in Glenn County high schools, ensuring alignment with project objectives and timelines.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive program plan, including program development, activity scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and community stakeholders to promote the MedEd Club initiative and recruit student participants.
Facilitation of Educational Activities:
- Plan and facilitate educational workshops, seminars, and hands-on activities related to healthcare careers and issues.
- Coordinate guest speaker sessions and networking events, inviting healthcare professionals to share insights and experiences with club members.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages active participation and engagement among club members.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Maintain regular communication with school staff, healthcare professionals, and project stakeholders to ensure alignment of goals and objectives.
- Act as a liaison between the MedEd Club, school administration, and external partners, facilitating collaboration and fostering positive relationships.
- Prepare regular progress reports, documenting program activities, achievements, and challenges for project evaluation and reporting purposes.
-Attend Glenn 2 Greatness meetings periodically to provide updates on MedEd Club progress
-Attend career fairs, back to school and other similar events to promote MedEd Club and other Healthcare Pathways Programs
Administrative Tasks:
- Manage administrative tasks related to the MedEd Club project, including budget tracking, inventory management, and documentation of program materials.
- Coordinate logistical arrangements for club meetings, events, and field trips, ensuring compliance with school policies and safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of club membership, attendance, and participant feedback for program evaluation and improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in education, healthcare, public health, or related field (preferred).
- Experience working with youth or in educational settings, particularly in underserved communities.
- Knowledge of healthcare careers, medical education, and healthcare issues.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Organizational and multitasking abilities, with attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications.
- Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed to attend career fairs
