The Red Lion Hotel and Conference Center in Pasco, WA is currently searching for a remarkable Business Travel/Group coordinator to assist the sales manager to lead the sales effort for the only full-service hotel in Pasco, Washington. Our ideal candidate will be engaged, authentic, and prepared to prospect, sell, and maintain accounts to positively impact revenues.
Overall Responsibilities:
The sales coordinator will be responsible for assisting the sales manager in the execution of the sales effort, including securing new accounts, maintaining existing accounts, and executing sales and marketing strategies to maximize the profitability of the hotel while maintaining customer satisfaction. Other responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
- Targets and develops business travel and group rooms accounts, markets, or segments with a heavy emphasis on proactive solicitation and account saturation within Local and National Accounts
- Understands the overall market; competitors' strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply, and demand, etc. and knows how to sell against them.
- Analyzes the current client base and target market for the hotel using Brand Resources, and Travelclick data. Focuses efforts on key and target accounts with significant potential
- Monitors production of all top accounts and evaluates trends within the designated markets.
- Reaches out to organizations and businesses that might require a hotel for transient or group guests from the local market.
- Responds to incoming sales leads for the property.
- Identifies, qualifies and solicits new business to achieve personal and property revenue goals.
- Handles annual RFP season negotiations and annual contract renewals.
- Works with existing accounts and conducts quarterly reviews with Travel Managers to ensure accounts are on pace to meet targeted production.
- Develops and executes effective sales plans and actions. Meet or exceed sales solicitation call goals.
- Closes the best opportunities for the property based on market conditions and property needs.
- Uses negotiating skills and creative selling abilities to close on business and negotiate contracts.
- Handles complex business with significant revenue potential as well as significant customer expectations.
- Develops relationships within the community to strengthen and expand the customer base for sales opportunities.
- Provides excellent customer service in order to grow the share of the account.
- Identifies improvements to enhance the client experience.
- Maintains performance level when experiencing changes or challenges.
- Adhere to all standards, policies, and procedures and consistently maintain a professional and ethical representation.
- Performs other duties, as assigned, to meet business needs.

Qualifications
- Candidates for Sales Manager must have a minimum of 2 years of sales experience, preferably in hotel sales.
- Market knowledge preferred
- Knowledge of Agency360, STR, and other industry reports
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Office, Internet
- Well-organized and detail-oriented
- Ability to work independently
- Display initiative, perseverance, and analytical skills

- Available to meet guests which may include weekends

Education
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate's degree in a related field required, or a combination of higher education and related experience preferred.
Experience
- 2 years prior related office or admin experience preferred
- 2 years of sales or food & beverage experience preferred
