Configuration Analysis Manager manages the coordination and administration of configuration management activities. Creates and implements configuration management policies and procedures.     The Role
    The incumbent will be responsible for leading the Carrier Weight Engineering and Reporting group in Department E42. Primary responsibilities will include supervising calculations and estimations of mass properties primarily from 3D product model data but potentially from drawings, creating and maintaining weight and moment databases for new construction CVNs, estimating impacts of change orders on vessels under construction and those for which NNS serves as the Hull Planning Yard, and producing weight reports and other technical deliverables as required by contract. This position regularly communicates with NAVSEA tech codes, SUPSHIP, engineers and designers across E42 and other departments, and program offices.

    Daily responsibilities include:
    • Planning, coordination, and preparation of project documentation, such as engineering drawings, production specifications and schedules, and contract modifications, to ensure customer contract requirements are met
    • Review contracts to determine documentation required for each phase of project, applying knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes
    • Analyze proposed changes of product design to determine effect on overall product and system
    • Coordinate modification records for management control
    • Establish change orders and prepares for change authorization and documentation by company and subcontractor
    • Review and analyze released engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing, and engineering data control activities

    Must Have
    Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of progressive technical experience in research, engineering and design; Master's Degree and 4 years of relevant experience
    One of the following may be used as an equivalent to Bachelor's Degree for Information Technology Related Positions Only:
    • NNS Apprentice School graduate
    • Navy Nuclear Power School (NNPS) graduate
    • Associate's Degree or other formal 2 year program and 2 years of relevant exempt experience or 4 years of relevant non-exempt experience
    • Military Paygrade E-5 or above military experience
    • High School/GED and 4 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant exempt experience
    • High School/GED and 8 years combined of Manufacturing, Shipbuilding, Trades, Military experience or other relevant non-exempt experience
    • A relevant professional certification can be substituted for a Bachelor's Degree.
    Nice to Have
    • Experience in ship weight and moment calculating and estimating, weight and moment database management, and production of weight reports
    • Knowledge of ship systems, ESWBS, weight and stability margins/NTEs and how they have been historically applied in USN contracts
    • Knowledge and experience determining vendor weights and impacts to the design
    • Knowledge of and experience working to relevant procedures (e.g. E-692, E-675, and E-1280 series)
    • Knowledge of and experience working in ShipWeight and Siemens Team Center/NX software. Knowledge and application of Society of Allied Weight Engineers (SAWE) Recommended Practices
