Conservation Technician maintains the authenticity and overall appearance of art objects. Conducts analysis to determine appropriate method for cleaning and repairing objects. Being a Conservation Technician may require an associate's degree or its equivalent and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Conservation Technician relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Candidates must possess an appropriate Master’s degree (Ph.D. or D.V.M./V.M.D. preferred) or Laboratory Animal work experience and AALAS certification and experience teaching at the college level. Candidates with out-of-field degrees must have earned a minimum of 15 graduate credits in the area of teaching assignment.
Selected applicants will be responsible for providing the University with clearances, appropriate to the position, that have been completed within
the last 5 years. These clearances could include but are not limited to: Pennsylvania Patch, FBI Fingerprints completed by IDENTGO,
and the Child Abuse History clearance.
