Being a Conservation Technician may require an associate's degree or its equivalent and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Conservation Technician relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. 6. Implement comprehensive policies and procedures in conformity with the guidelines established by the Tribal Conservation Corporation. These policies should be designed to ensure maximum efficiency, sustainability, and optimum utilization of resources, while also adhering to the highest standards of ethical and environmental responsibility. It is imperative that the policies and procedures be developed in consultation with all Tribal Corps Entities, and that they consider the unique needs and circumstances of the Tuolumne Band of Me-Wuk Indians Tribal Conservation Corporation. The result should be a set of policies and procedures that are effective, practical, and in line with industry best practices.
7. Furnish County, State, and Federal entities with timely and accurate information regarding regulations, policy changes, and updates. This information should be reported to the Tuolumne Band of Me-Wuk Indians Council on a quarterly basis. It is imperative that the information provided is up-to-date and comprehensive so that it can be used to make informed decisions.
8. Review and prepare information for public distribution and records when and if requested.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
3 years of experience with one or more of the following service areas: training, transitional aged youth development, community outreach, intake services, mentoring, or other related work preferred.
Any combination of experience in the following is strongly desired: habitat conservation, Cultural restoration, forest health, wildfire resilience, urban and community greening, sustainable and climate-smart agriculture, outdoor access and recreation, park infrastructure and construction/renovation.
Background Investigation - To proceed, you need to undergo fingerprinting and pass a Criminal Offender Record Information check administered by the HR Department of The Tuolumne Band of Me-Wuk Indians.
Ability to work independently on and off-site.
Knowledge of and comfort using Microsoft Office Suite applications (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
Must possess a valid California driver’s license and comply with the requirements of the Tribe’s driving policy and insurance requirements.
