What is the impact of this role?

Our internship program will provide a realistic view of what it is like to work in commercial construction. These individuals will gain exposure to many kinds of projects with myriad contract amounts. This intern will be exposed to industry leaders across our organization. 

What You’ll Do at Monteith Construction

Spend your summer with us at Monteith Construction in Wilmington! This role can be customizable, depending on the student’s interests. Some of the things you will be involved with, but not limited to, are: 

• Observe Owner/Architect/Contractor Meetings
• Observe Preinstall and Pull Meetings
• Gain a general overview of our Scheduling, VDC, Accounting, and Estimating processes
• Help to ensure on-site safety as well as compliance with all company policies and procedures
• Support the project management team with subcontractor and supplier coordination, material tracking, file management, document control (submittals, RFIs, and change orders), and progress reporting
• Support the Estimating and Preconstruction Team 
• Interact with trade partners and vendors regarding the technical and contractual matters

Experience You Should Have

• Must currently be enrolled in an accredited college or university and seeking a degree in a related field/construction management program
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both verbally and in writing
