The Construction Yard Coordinator will perform tasks involving physical labor in the equipment yard and shop. The position may handle and/or operate a variety of hand tools, and equipment and is responsible for keeping the shop clean and maintained. The Construction Storage Yardman works as part of the equipment and operations team to make sure the field is supported.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Overall management of construction storage yard.
• Load/unload all incoming and outgoing delivery trucks into the yard.
• Store incoming materials from the jobsite neatly and orderly in allocated areas within the yard.
• Secure and lift all loads using appropriate rigging standards.
• Manage inventory of all materials and supplies used for projects.
• Ensure all inventory levels of materials are maintained.
• Work with Fabrication, Maintenance, Transportation, and Operations departments to serve them timely.
• Operate equipment to keep yard laydown area graded.
• Field phone calls from Superintendents/Foremen to retrieve and set aside parts or products needed for delivery to jobsites.
• Pressure wash items as needed in wash bay.
• Assist field mechanics/welders as required.
• Work closely with dispatch on assisting lowbed and rack truck drivers load/unload equipment and materials.
• Ability to work overtime and weekends as required.
• Other tasks as assigned.

DESIRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum High School Diploma or GED.
• Related experience required.
• A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record is required.
• Commercial driver's license (Class A/B) preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Proficient in organization and always maintaining safety.
• Ability to problem solve and make timely decisions.
• Vast knowledge of materials and equipment used in the construction trade.
• Able to operate a forklift, wheel loader, trucks and other heavy equipment when needed.
• Willingness/ability to use Acetylene torch.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Prolonged periods standing and walking.
• Ability to work in all weather conditions outside.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs unassisted.
