    Job Summary:  This position will collaborate with and support estimating, business development, and other departments to plan and produce components of bids/proposals to acquire new projects that meet goals of Interwest Construction business plan. You will assist in processing estimating contracts for our heavy civil construction bids, deliver bid openings throughout Western Washington.

    Duties & Responsibilities
    Pre-Bid Process
    • Search daily for construction bid opportunities.
    • Review and understand project bid documents including plans, specifications, all related addenda and other relative correspondence as it relates to the estimate.
    • Solicit participation from all required vendors and subcontractors and follow up to ensure timely delivery of quotes.
    • Understand the relationship between all trade divisions.
    • Provide the engineer with questions and clarifications in need of resolution. 
    • Participating in estimating meetings weekly to review upcoming proposals/bids. 
    Bid Process
    • Maintain a Vendor/Subcontractor database with the firms that we engage with in all areas.
    • React to and coordinate with estimators regarding issues discovered during the bid process.
    • Prepare spreadsheets as required to evaluate all vendors and subs.
    • Provide the estimating team with bid day support.
    • Provide the estimating team with the information required to complete our bid documents on bid day.
    • Support efforts to obtain Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) participation in our bids.
    • Obtain prequalification information from subcontractors.
    Post Bid Process
    • Build and maintain relationships with owners, general contractors, subcontractors and vendors.
    Required Skills & Abilities:
    • Accountable for quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) of your own work and maintaining compliance and high quality for final proposal documents before they are submitted to the clients.
    • Strong written, editorial, and proofreading skills for documentation. Extremely detail oriented.
    • Take initiative and work independently.
    • Must be able to adjust to multiple, concurrent deadlines.
    • Valid Washington State Driver license with excellent driving record.
    • Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook email. 
    • High level of professionalism.
    • Strong verbal communication skills and people management skills to effectively work within a team of estimators and managers to complete low bid proposals to obtain new projects for ICI. 
    • Works well under pressure and understands deadlines with the ability to meet them.
    • Solid aptitude of technical research, analytical skills, draft writing, data entry and web-based research.
    • Exceedingly organized, ability to work with high dollar figures and mathematical expressions for cost information. 
    • Understand working assignments and administrative processes.
    • Ability to perform various and diverse duties to be classified in any specific office clerical occupation.
    • Employment is contingent upon the results of background check and drug screen.
    Education & Experience
    • BA/BS, AA preferably in Construction, Accounting, English, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or a related field to proposal coordination efforts in the architectural/engineering/construction (A/E/C) and utility industries
    • 2 Years of related proposal/bid management/Coordination and writing experience.
    • Fundamental knowledge of construction field and bid process preferred. 
    • Ability to work independently, and on multiple teams, and handle several assignments simultaneously.
    Compensation RangeThe salary range includes the minimum, midpoint, and maximum base salary values. A candidate's offer can vary depending on differentiating factors, including but not limited to education, training, or experience.
    • $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 Annually DOE

    • This position typically operates in a office environment. At times you may travel within WA State to deliver paperwork for a project in a company vehicle.
