POSITION DESCRPTION:
Leadership position charged with assisting the operations and sales of the paint department. This individual is responsible for representing the company, developing strategies for growth, and planning for future. They will assist with the oversight all paint site and offsite activities, along with managing the employees in the paint department.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
ADMINISTRATIVE:
· Review timecards, ensuring the field team is accurately logging time.
· Assist with the review of invoices and receipts, confirming the field team is providing the correct job number and descriptions.
· Maintain file storage on the Commercial Painting SharePoint site.
· Create, review and sign proposals related to the Commercial Paint department, as needed.
· Identify and correct jobsite and departmental issues.
· Attend management and client meetings, as needed.
OPERATIONS:
· Visit the various on-going jobsites to ensure work is up to CCS standards, as needed.
· Ensure all projects are being completed on time and within budget.
· Assist the Senior Superintendent in dealing with serious jobsite and employee issues. (This would include issues that could result in an employee termination, schedule delays, or budgetary confinements, not menial items.)
· Review proposals to verify that they are covering the project scope.
· Review project budgets, ensuring all expected and potential unexpected costs are covered.
· Track project schedule and document progress.
· Document scope and projects changes as they occur.
· Coordinate walk-throughs and meetings with clients and relevant teams, as needed.
· Create a weekly job schedule with the assistance of the Paint Manager.
· Monitoring work performed and regularly checking job sites to ensure projects are on track for completion.
ESTIMATING/SALES:
· Review Plans and Specifications.
· Perform quantity takeoffs utilizing Bluebeam software.
· Prepare and submit proposals and submit to clients.
· Review scope of work upon project award and create project folder.
· Organize product data submittal packages and order paint drawdowns, as needed.
· Create and submit change orders on projects, as needed.
FINANCE:
· Review job costing reports, with Paint Manager, to make sure jobs remain profitable.
HUMAN RESOURCES:
· Sit in on interviews of potential new hires within the paint department.
· Sit in on with “Performance Reviews” and “Write-ups” as needed.
· Assist with terminations, as needed.
· Evaluate employee performance throughout the year, providing frequent feedback.
· Ensure all employees receive adequate training and create additional materials, when needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Two or more years of experience estimating in the construction industry, ideally in painting and coatings, highly preferred.
· Two years of leadership experience in commercial and industrial painting production, required.
· A thorough understanding and installation of all types of paint and coatings, required.
· Ability to read blueprints, digital drawings, required.
· Bluebeam and Microsoft 365 experience. Specifically, knowledge and proficiency in Microsoft Excel, highly preferred.
· Verbal and written communications skills, required.
· Valid Driver's License, required.
· The ability to pass a background check and drug test, required. (Marijuana positive drug test accepted with a medical marijuana card.)
