The Inspection Supervisor will often be a player/coach responsible for assembling and leading a high-performing, customer-focused team. The Inspection Supervisor assists with recruiting, hiring, training, and retaining employees by deploying a servant leadership role and leveraging all Crane 1 support resources. This is a demanding, 'hands-on', entrepreneurial position that requires a person with the ability to prioritize and complete a wide variety of management and operational-oriented activities. It is a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment. A great amount of interaction is required, this position will be a key member of our growing operations and sales leadership team.
Familiarity with managing operations in a service-based, industrial maintenance and repair business is important. Inspection Supervisor Role & Responsibilities
- Responsible for scheduling monthly inspections and preventative maintenance, completing all first-time inspection customers with the proper checklists, and conducting all company inspections or PMs unless other arrangements are made.
- Ensures safety items and general conditions found during inspections are reviewed with the customer during the visits and a general idea of the customer’s intentions of repairing the work is determined. Based on their intentions, you must decide whether to work up a quotation or not.
- Ensure manuals, vehicles, tools, and equipment, are maintained by all inspections teams in accordance with Company procedures and policies and in a professional manner.
- Leads lean thinking, team involvement, and problem-solving to eliminate bottlenecks, reduce waste, and implement process improvements.
- Leadership responsibilities will include recruiting and deployment, training, and coaching to meet performance standards.
- Take a leadership role in improving the knowledge and understanding of field personnel in best business and operational practices, leading to enhanced financial performance.
- Supports consistent proposal costing and contract implementation.
- Supervise the work activities of inspectors to meet the production schedule demands.
- Other duties as assigned.
Inspection Supervisor Qualifications
- KNOWLEDGE: minimum of (2) years’ technical degree or equivalent experience, or a combination of education and experience that illustrates a proven track record in this field.
- SKILLS:
- Thorough knowledge of electrical theory for power and controls.
- Thorough knowledge of the mechanical systems of cranes/hoists.
- Thorough knowledge of simple structural elements.
- Understanding of the OSHA/ANSI standard (is required).
- ABILITY: A passion for providing top-notch customer service to our customers. Valid driver’s license and ability to meet our driving requirements.
