Construction Management Director oversees construction projects and operations to meet the organization's financial and growth objectives and fulfill client contractual requirements. Develops and implements quality, performance, and safety standards and procedures for operations. Being a Construction Management Director reviews and approves procurement of required material, equipment, subcontractors, and worker resources. Provides project updates and communicates with clients, contractors, governmental or regulatory officials, and other stakeholders. Additionally, Construction Management Director builds effective team capacity to plan and implement construction projects. Ensures all permits, licenses, or certifications required by regulatory authorities are obtained. Establishes and enforces safety protocols and procedures to provide safe job sites and minimize risk. Monitors costs and timelines and submits required progress reports to deliver projects on time and within budget. Implements best practice construction methods to improve efficiency, productivity, and project outcomes. Requires a bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field. Typically reports to senior management. The Construction Management Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Construction Management Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Position Summary: Report up to the President of this growing, commercial construction management company specializing in Pre-Construction, General Contracting, and Construction Management projects. Responsible for overseeing all stages of construction and construction teams to include ensuring all objectives and standards are met.


    Specific Responsibilities:

    • Plan, implement, and supervise the completion of construction projects
    • Assist in the acquisition, future planning, and budgeting of upcoming projects
    • Manage, coach, and evaluate site supervisors including schedules, workflow and output
    • Ensure a safe work site for site supervisors and subcontractors
    • Prepares and monitor progress of all projects including budget targets and objectives
    • Allocate resources to each project ensuring timely completion in line with organizational goals
    • Interface with city, county, and governmental reviewers and inspectors
    • Meet regularly with clients, third parties, and managers to report on progress
    • Manage relationships with general contractors and direct vendors
    • Preparation of RFI’s
    • Partner with Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Site Superintendents
    • Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget
    • Communicate project status and workflow to internal staff on a regular basis
    • Proven financial literacy skills including budgeting and forecasting
    • Tracking/reporting project costs
    • Revenue and adherence to project estimate


    Basic Qualifications:

    • A degree in construction management, engineering, or architecture is desirable but not required
    • 10-15 years of proven leadership and construction management experience required
    • Rehabilitation, renovation, and preservation experience a plus
    • Strong working knowledge of MS Office, Project, and Procore are preferred
    • Current New York State Driver License with insurable driving record
    • Excellent project planning, budgeting, implementation and execution strategies skills
    • Strong organizational skills: ability to set priorities and work on multiple projects simultaneously
    • High energy level, strong sense of initiative, creative problem solving, flexibility, and discretionary skills
    • Ability to work collaboratively, independently, strategically, and tactically
