Construction Management Director oversees construction projects and operations to meet the organization's financial and growth objectives and fulfill client contractual requirements. Develops and implements quality, performance, and safety standards and procedures for operations. Being a Construction Management Director reviews and approves procurement of required material, equipment, subcontractors, and worker resources. Provides project updates and communicates with clients, contractors, governmental or regulatory officials, and other stakeholders. Additionally, Construction Management Director builds effective team capacity to plan and implement construction projects. Ensures all permits, licenses, or certifications required by regulatory authorities are obtained. Establishes and enforces safety protocols and procedures to provide safe job sites and minimize risk. Monitors costs and timelines and submits required progress reports to deliver projects on time and within budget. Implements best practice construction methods to improve efficiency, productivity, and project outcomes. Requires a bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field. Typically reports to senior management. The Construction Management Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Construction Management Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.   • KDG Construction Consulting is seeking a Director of Business Development to support multiple phases of the business development and marketing/proposal management processes. This role will serve as an extension of the Executive Vice President of Client Development (EVP) and attend industry events as well as support pursuit management and client development. This position will partner with the EVP to identify new business and assist the technical team in developing winning strategies for compelling proposals and presentations for various aviation, utilities, and transportation programs.

    The ideal candidate will be someone with strong communication skills who thrives in an independent atmosphere and brings a highly proactive, self-starter approach to the role with minimal guidance needed. The ability to multi-task and manage multiple deliverables in an efficient manner is necessary for this position.

    This position is hybrid and requires a minimum of (3) days per week in office at the Glendale, CA headquarters. Applicants must be able to work a full-time work schedule of 40 hours per week.

    Responsibilities and Duties:
    Business Development
    • Partner with Business Development team to track market developments, create strategies, implement teaming plans, and maintain partner relations.
    • Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and clients within the A/E/C industry.
    • Attend pre-proposal meetings, board meetings, industry events, and conferences as an extension of the EVP and Business Development team
    • Conduct market research to understand industry trends, competitor activities, and potential clients' needs.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients, industry professionals, and key stakeholders.
    • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
    • Understand client needs and collaborate with internal teams to tailor solutions that meet or exceed client expectations.
    • Serve as a point of contact for client communications and feedback.

    Marketing/Proposal Support
    • Provide oversight of marketing material and boiler plate information, including resumes, project summaries, proposals, collateral, and other qualifications-related documents.
    • Provide overall quality assurance during proposal development and edits content for readability, consistency, clarity, and compliance with client requirements.
    • Support EVP in building pursuit team and developing strategies for responding to, preparing materials, and developing proposals in response to RFQs, RFPs and SOQs.
    • Collaborate with Senior Field Leadership to gather strong technical examples and project write-ups to demonstrate how our proposal aligns with client requirements and company standards.
    • Support selected staff members in interview preparation.
    • Utilize digital marketing channels and social media to promote the company and its projects.

    Required Qualifications: 
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Architecture, Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
    • Proven experience in business development, proposal management, and marketing within the A/E/C industry.
    • Strong understanding of industry trends, regulations, and client needs.
    • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and relevant marketing tools.
    • Candidates must have 5-10 years of related experience in the A/E/C industry.
    • Previous experience working with public agencies on multi-year professional services contracts is a MUST.
    • Prior experience working collaboratively with C-Suite executives and presenting to clients is a PLUS. 
    Anticipated Salary Range: $120,000- $170,000 per year
