As the Director of Construction, you will oversee and ensure excellend operations in our Construction Department. The Director of Construction will lead all functions and be ultimately responsible for the attainment of annual production goals, revenue and EBITDA goals, and delivering excellent quality service and products in an efficient, safe, and timely manner. We are seeking a highly skilled, strong leader with the ability to develop staff through personal example and through the implementation of formal training programs and other processes.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the expansion of the company into new geographic markets
Continuously identify new suppliers, contractors, and vendors to reduce costs and improve construction quality and turnaround time
Develop and update departmental policies and procedures
Develop and manage construction project budgets and timelines
Develop efficient systems and processes for field staff
Ensure timely completion of projects with accurate job estimation, minimization of construction costs, and within budget
Ensure timely completion of projects within budget
Manage contracts for all trades and subcontractors
Manage staff workload to create balance and backup coverage.
Negotiate favorable pricing while maintaining high-quality standards by sourcing new suppliers and trade contractors
Oversee the effective use of project management software to track and manage the status of all construction projects
Oversee the negotiation with insurance companies to ensure ease of payment throughout the construction process
Provide leadership in the development of the construction department to achieve annual goals
Responsible for hiring, retaining, developing, and elevating associate performance to support the company’s growth strategies.
Solve construction problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Interpret drawings and a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Track job-level and departmental KPIs to ensure both the department and every job achieve minimum profitability levels
Job Qualifications:
5 years' experience in a management position
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a similar field of study
Ability to effectively present information to top management, the public, and/or board of directors.
Ability to organize work and time efficiently and effectively
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret construction drawings, project plans, legal and insurance documents
Ability to work in an office with frequent interruptions
Calm and very pleasant demeanor when working with a wide variety of people.
Excellent communication skills and proficiency in computer usage
Proven organizational skills including the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and produce high-quality results quickly and on time.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team with great energy and persistence.
