Construction Management Director oversees construction projects and operations to meet the organization's financial and growth objectives and fulfill client contractual requirements. Develops and implements quality, performance, and safety standards and procedures for operations. Being a Construction Management Director reviews and approves procurement of required material, equipment, subcontractors, and worker resources. Provides project updates and communicates with clients, contractors, governmental or regulatory officials, and other stakeholders. Additionally, Construction Management Director builds effective team capacity to plan and implement construction projects. Ensures all permits, licenses, or certifications required by regulatory authorities are obtained. Establishes and enforces safety protocols and procedures to provide safe job sites and minimize risk. Monitors costs and timelines and submits required progress reports to deliver projects on time and within budget. Implements best practice construction methods to improve efficiency, productivity, and project outcomes. Requires a bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field. Typically reports to senior management. The Construction Management Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Construction Management Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Construction Laborer

  • Summary of position:

    Construction laborers work on construction sites during all phases of a job, performing a wide range of tasks from the very easy to more difficult.  Laborers may prepare and clean up a job site, use a variety of tools and equipment and assist craft workers.

    Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

    • Follow and demonstrate Roers’ Core Values of Respect, Opportunity, Partnership, Experience, Expertise and Community when working with team members, customers and our external communities.
    • Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor.
    • Use of hand and power tools.
    • Prepare and clean up construction area.
    • Participate in demolition.
    • Set up/take down ladders, scaffolding, and other temporary structures.
    • Maintain a clean job site: pick up all tools and equipment and secure job site each day to eliminate potential hazards.
    • Material handling, delivery, and storage.
    • Load and unload trucks and haul and hoist materials.
    • Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.

    Other Requirements:

    • Able to follow and implement oral and written directions from crew foreman.
    • Ability to work well without supervision and anticipate work that needs to be done.
    • Follow established safety rules and regulations and maintain a safe and clean environment.
    • Ability to lift 75 pounds.
    • Frequent standing, kneeling, and lifting.
    • Must be able to push, pull or carry objects, use abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support over time without fatigue.
    • Possible out of town travel during the week.
    • Have tools that are required for position.
    • Ability to meet attendance schedule with dependability and consistency.

    Education/Experience:

    • High School diploma preferred.
    • Minimum 2 years of experience on the job or any experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work. (prior construction work, farming or other physical labor position).

    Work Environment:

    Laborers work on many different types of construction projects, so their working environment depends on the type of project that they're working on. They will work both indoors and outdoors and will be subject to variable weather conditions (inclement, heat/humidity, cold, wind) and site conditions (exposure to dust, noise, etc.).
