Implements best practice construction methods to improve efficiency, productivity, and project outcomes. Requires a bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field. Typically reports to senior management. The Construction Management Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Construction Management Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.   • YOUR PROFILE    We are building an energy markets team (including energy, capacity, ancillary services and RECs) to support our Ontario (IESO), New York (NYISO) and Texas (ERCOT) portfolios, which includes wind, solar, storage and hydro assets. The team will be responsible for near-term offtake and trading (<2 years), as well as fundamentals-based long term merchant market forecasting.   You will lead the Energy Markets team through your thought leadership by leveraging your experience in mature and robust energy trading markets, coupled with your vision and experience with the future of energy to be a key contributor to Boralex’s success, shaping our strategy, offerings, and delivery.   YOUR CHALLENGE    You will be responsible for leading our North American energy markets team, reporting to the Senior Vice President M&A and Offtake Origination, North America.   Lead a team of traders, data scientists, and market specialists, setting performance metrics with regular reviews. Develop energy trading functional and technical roadmaps. Define trading growth strategies / new market entry, and vision setting. Set energy trading commercial strategy for existing and new projects. Define and document trading front, middle and back-office process design. Define and implement our energy trading organizational model. Gather functional design and related requirements across front office, risk, accounting, settlements, logistics, and scheduling. Conduct trading front, middle and back-office benchmarking, surveys, and market scans for new and emerging technology / value creation opportunities. Integrate and align cross product and cross region commodity trading processes and technologies. Leverage prior energy trading experience to identify new business opportunities. Understanding of capital adequacy, liquidity, and treasury as it pertains to energy trading organizations. Establish and implement strategy in relation to project development ensuring projects stay on set schedule and budget. Support internal development, project finance, EPC and legal teams to support the development and execution of our projects.     YOUR SKILLS    Bachelor’s degree in economics, mathematics, engineering, finance or related field, and 10 years of work experience. Minimum of 10 years of experience working within the electricity trading sector, particularly with the front office. Ability to work across various stakeholder groups, including business, front office, and technical teams. Experience in energy commodities and understanding of the commercial aspects of commodity trading, marketing, or procurement. Experience with the transaction lifecycle for commodities and the nuances that come with executing physical or financial commodity transactions. Demonstrated ability to liaise between business, technology, and vendor teams. Strategic thinking and solutioning skills to craft a strong value proposition. Strong understanding of the current solutions in the market and ability to craft specific solutions for Boralex. Curious mindset and desire to learn and grow. Highly seasoned project management skills and ability to complete multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Ability to influence at all levels of the organization. Strong executive facilitation skills related to strategy development and problem solving.
