    Job Description:

    RL Clotworthy Construction Inc. is looking for a proactive, highly organized individual to join our team as a Safety Manager. The Safety Manager is responsible for all safety requirements for the company including training field personnel and staff, auditing the job sites, developing safety programs, enforcing safety standards, and ensuring completion of all safety reporting.

    The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of local, state, and federal regulations regarding construction safety. They will be familiar with OSHA regulations and other standards as they apply to the construction and maintenance of telecommunication tower facilities. Understanding of safety guidelines for forklifts, Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (aerial lifts), confined spaces, fall protection, trenching, excavation equipment, concrete work, fire safety, rigging, cranes, electrical work, scaffolding, tower climbing/work at heights and PPE with relation to projects needs is required for this position. Experience with international airport regulations is ideal.

    This position is based in southern California, but the Safety Manager will need to be able to travel to other locations on occasion.

    Duties/Responsibilities:

    · Develop and Maintain Safety Program.

    · Create and maintain all company safety guidelines:

    o Safety Manual(s)

    o Ensure compliance with all OSHA, Federal, State regulations and Airport regulations.

    o Create Safety Standard Operating Procedures to readily define processes and steps for employees and General Contractors (GCs) to follow.

    o Develop standard forms, inspection templates, etc.

    o Maintain a central location for all documents, making them readily available to employees.

    o Ensure compliance with all customer, insurance, and other relevant requirements.

    · Assist upper management with GCs:

    o Evaluate the new vendor’s Safety Manual, EMR, safety compliance, COI, etc.

    o Maintain Vendor files and documentation.

    o Conduct periodic reviews of approved vendor safety documentation to ensure continued compliance.

    · Develop and maintain the company Safety Training Program:

    o Conduct and document all employee safety information/training sessions.

    o Conduct periodic company-wide safety briefings on topics pertaining to the job responsibilities of employees.

    · Safety Reporting:

    o Compile and publish safety and quality reports to the Vice President of Operations.

    o Conduct safety and quality audit including company vehicle inspections, resolving safety issues that arise.

    o Ensure safety incidents and/or accidents are properly investigated and recorded.

    o Obtain and maintain records of employee safety certifications, including driving records.

    · Other duties as required and needed.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    · OSHA 100 Construction, CPR & First Aid, etc.

    · Valid Drivers' License with clean driving record required.

    · Knowledge of Worker’s Compensation rules and regulations.

    · Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Project, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred.

    · Excellent oral and written communication skills.

    · Highly organized with strong attention to detail skills.

    · Ability to work in a fast-paced and changing environment.

    · 50% travel required.

    Education and Experience:

    · 3 years of related safety/construction management experience in the telecom industry preferred.

    · 5 years of safety management experience required.

    Physical Requirements:

    · Must be in good physical condition. Ability to reach, climb, and/or grasp ladders or other tall structures.

    · Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather

    · Ability to work long and unpredictable hours

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
