Assistant Project Manager

  • Position Summary:

    This is an entry-level position that works directly within the Project Management team to assist with the management of commercial construction projects. An individual in this role provides information and administrative support to Project Managers. Other duties may include developing and maintaining project schedules and interacting with subcontractors/suppliers.

    Work Functions & Responsibilities

    • Creation and/or preparation of:
    • General documentation to include associated logs
    • Letters of Transmittals
    • Bid forms/documentation to include proposal information
    • Contracts to owners and subcontractors
    • Active Job Number Listings
    • Cost Code Listings
    • Job Schedules
    • Billing Materials including AIA forms and letters
    • Change orders, including follow through
    • Job Folders and Labels
    • Coordination of Bonding when applicable.
    • Preparation and coordination of Submittals.
    • Assist Project Managers with pre-construction, weekly, and punch list meetings.
    • Answering phone calls and emails from both internal and external individuals in a timely manner.
    • Ensure proper filing of documentation in appropriate job folder.
    • Travel to and from various job sites and project meetings as requested.
    • Positive interaction with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure project success.
    • Occasional interaction with clients to answer questions or address concerns, ensuring customer satisfaction.
    • Occasional management of a small project with assistance from the Project Management team.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Computer skills and knowledge of software including Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
    • Must have a valid driver's License

    Preferred Qualifications

    • 1 years of prior construction field experience
    • Previous office experience
    • Associate Degree (acquired or in progress) in Construction Management or related field

    Physical Requirements:

    • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 60% of the time.
    • Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
    • Continuously operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, printer and telephone.
    • Semi-frequent stair climbing.
    • May include frequent travel to jobsites and project meetings in various locations
