We are seeking a forward-thinking, enthusiastic individual to join us!

The Estimator Assistant is an integral part of the preconstruction team. This position reports to the Estimator. This individual shall be a team player, willing to learn, while working well independently. There is potential for growth within the team!

Responsibilities

• Estimate materials, labor, and equipment time for projects based on construction codes and specifications.
• Review plans and specifications to determine appropriate methods of construction.
• Apply knowledge of construction materials and trades to calculate costs of building projects.
• Review plans and specifications to determine appropriate methods of construction.
• Calculate material quantities for a variety of projects based on blueprints, sketches, or verbal instructions from project managers.
• Prepare contract pricing proposals for a variety of construction projects.
• Prepare subcontractor bidding documents.

Requirements

• 1-3 years of estimating experience; ground-up projects included.
• Experience with estimating using Bluebeam,
• Able to calculate SF takeoffs (drywall, flooring, base etc)
• Proficient using Excel.
• Able to use formulas to calculate take-offs.
• Exceptional computer skills and comfortable learning new software.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication, including strong follow up skills.
• Enjoy a positive, team-centered, collaborative work style while still able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• College degree preferred (or equivalent experience with HS diploma).
• Ability to work in an office and in the field in a fast paced environment.
• Enjoy various challenges with a multitasked position from sales through to the completion of a project.
