Construction Representative, Sr. jobs in the United States
Construction Representative, Sr. observes and inspects construction on large projects to ensure adherence to specifications, codes, and contract documents. Monitors construction of facility and ensures compliance to safety regulations. Being a Construction Representative, Sr. performs regular assessment of construction methods and project costs. Requires technical knowledge of multiple construction processes and extensive experience in a given field of inspection work. Additionally, Construction Representative, Sr. may be responsible for overseeing the work of less experienced inspectors. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Construction Representative, Sr. is a specialist on complex technical and business matters. Work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group. SR Construction is a full-service design/build general contractor founded in 1991 with the primary goal of providing our clients with the highest degree of quality and the greatest level of service on every project.
We are seeking an experienced, self-motivated and detail-oriented construction estimator to join our team!
WHAT YOU’LL DO:- Examine drawings and specifications for job requirements, quantity takeoff and pricing.
- Perform material and systems take off as required.
- Draft bid scopes of work and final buy-out scopes of work.
- Solicit bids from subcontractors and suppliers, set up scope and prepare bid documents/forms.
- Examine existing conditions and attend pre-bid meeting.
- Compile estimates, rough order of magnitude budgets, cost-benefit analysis, constructability reviews, and engage in value analysis.
- Assist with determination of schedule.
- Coordinate project buyout and hand off to Operations Staff.
- Coordinate scope reviews with subcontractors and provide subcontractor recommendations based upon these reviews.
- Search for and qualify potential new Subcontractors, suppliers, methods, equipment, etc. for competitive advantages.
- Work collaboratively with project team to ensure positive results.
- Assist Business Development to prepare conceptual estimates and attend meetings with Owners for interviews, scope determination and value engineering.
- Utilize On-Screen Take Off, Excel, Building Connected, Procore, Bluebeam, and all other estimating systems utilized by the company.
- Supervise subordinate team members.
- We are looking for self-motivated and organized team members who enjoy working in a collaborative environment.
SKILLS:- 5 years experience in construction estimating.
- Able to read architectural plans and develop cost estimates.
- Strong understanding of hospitality or healthcare construction help, but not required.
- Proficiency with MS Word and Excel.
- Able to multi-task and meet strict deadlines.
- Impeccable problem-solving skills.
