Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Education Assistant to join our team!

JOB SUMMARY:       

The Education Assistant assists in assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and overseeing educational activities, including but not limited to the Student Services program and other non-clinical education programs as determined by manager.

The Education Assistant works collaboratively with the Manager to assess, plan, implement and evaluate all services provided. He/she may collaborate with the American Heart Association (AHA) Training Center Coordinator (TCC) to instruct BLS classes as requested.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Works alongside the Student Services Employee Health Manager:
  a. Reviews records to ensure appropriate documentation is in place for students and non-employees,
  such as researchers, travelers, and contract staff, who enter the facilities
  b. Communicates with the Student Services Manager to facilitate student placement within the
  facilities
  c. Coordinates with schools in conjunction with the Student Services Manager to schedule rotations
  and facilitate entry of students and non-employees to the facilities
  2. Serves as BLS Instructor
  3. Works with the other segments of the Education Department to ensure that the educational offerings
  and opportunities provided meet the needs of the target audience and follow policy and all regulatory
  guidelines
  4. Ensures the accuracy of any supporting documents for students, employees, and non-employees
  5. Collaborates to plan, develop, implement, and evaluate and oversee any additional non-clinical
  educational offerings as requested by the DON or supervisors
  6. Collects data for and assists in the preparation of reports as required and/or requested
  7. Fosters effective collegial relationships with other employees in the compliance department and
  Mountain View community
  8. Demonstrates effective proactive situational leadership while working within the framework of Mountain
  View’s mission, vision, and values by actively supporting new programs and changes in the
  organization
  9. Assists with additional projects within the Education Department as requested by other members of the
  Quality Resources department and the DON
  10. Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:   

Education/Certification:  Bachelor’s degree preferred, AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) instructor. The BLS  Instructor course will be offered as indicated after hire.

 Experience:  Two or more years in clerical, and computer skills, education/instructor experience

Equipment/Technology:  Microsoft Office Suite

Language/Communication:  English

Mathematical Skills:  Basic

Mental Capabilities:  Ability to critically think and multi-task

Interpersonal:  Effectively communicate with administration, managers, and staff

Performance:  Requires strong oral and written communication and presentation skills. Requires ability to work independently and with groups/teams as both project leader and team member. Requires attention to detail and ability to assimilate large amounts of information from various sources. Possesses excellent interpersonal skills and can work effectively with diverse personalities. Requires experience with computer technology.
