South Ottumwa Savings Bank is seeking an experienced Credit Analyst to become a member of our Bank Team at our Church Street location in Ottumwa, Iowa.
SOSB’s Credit Analyst supports the bank’s objective of maintaining a high-quality loan portfolio through comprehensive financial analysis to quantify and estimate the degree of risk associated with the extension of credit to companies and individuals. The Credit Analyst will collaborate with and support the loan department and all loan officers through the loan process by gathering documents, analyzing financials, preparing loan presentations, and reviewing loan documents and files for accuracy and completeness, while ensuring applicable regulations and bank policies and procedures are complied with in the process of transacting business.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
This is a salary exempt from overtime position based on a normal 40 hour work week Monday through Friday with some scheduled Saturday mornings.
Develops credit presentations for agricultural and commercial loan requests and loan renewals.
Communicates with the borrower and/or borrowers’ financial representative to gather all pertinent financial information necessary to review the loan request.
Analyzes borrower financial information including but not limited to:
Manages appraisals, internal evaluations, and the review process.
Maintains and monitors an auditing system for loan file documentation.
Participates in customer meetings as requested by the loan officer.
Attends loan committee meetings as appropriate to answer questions regarding loan analysis.
Assists with internal and external loan reviews and audits.
Adheres to loan policy, procedures, guidelines and regulations.
Represents the bank in various community activities.
Gains familiarity with all Bank products and services and promotes the products and services of South Ottumwa Savings bank; using bank products and services is highly encouraged.
Performs all other duties as assigned by management.
