    We are currently looking for a detail oriented, energetic and friendly candidate to take on the role as a Consumer Lending Specialist.     Essential Duties include:
    • Process loans (Auto, Personal, Visa & Recreational) by interviewing members, discussing options, gathering documents and communicating loan decisions.
    • Advise members through loan closing documents, terms and responsibilities to repay while ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.
    • Create loan files and review documents for accuracy and completeness
    • Work loan applications by following up with members, actively working loan queues and helping increase booking ratios.
    • Achieve goals by identifying and cross selling products and services beneficial to the member.

    Required skills:
    • Excellent written/verbal communication skills and have a professional manner
    • Ability to work independently in a prompt, friendly, efficient and accurate manner.
    • Ability to review credit reports and other tools for cross selling opportunities.
    • Support the credit union’s Mission and Vision statement
    • Provide superior member service.

    Education and Experience:
    • Two years as a Lending Specialist (preferably in Consumer Lending) or equivalent position at a comparable financial institution. Two years’ work experience in a sale and service based position in a financial environment.
    • High school diploma or equivalency required. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Organizational Development or related field preferred.
    • Proven ability to successfully communicate with staff, management and membership on credit union products and services.
