    Your Role at KIK

    The Dry “B” Operator is responsible for the transfer and compaction of dry product. The duties include, but are not limited to, the safe and efficient operation of the plant and all associated equipment. 

    What You’ll Be Doing

    • Operator monitors all equipment and machine centers in the field for proper performance by making designated rounds and readings.
    • You will respond to the needs of the equipment as directed by the Control Room “B” Operator.
    • In your role, you will be responsible for dumping and blending the correct product agents based on specification, monitoring the filling stations, monitors the flow as well as product level in the tote bins, then places the product on a loading station, using forklift. Excessive product must be placed in either tote bins or super sacks and reworked into process.
    • Records correct daily production numbers on morning report.
    • Prepares equipment for maintenance, deconning and deenergizing.  (Deconning sometimes requires hours of shoveling product from equipment and floor surfaces to properly decon the equipment.)
    • Responds to plant emergencies – decomposition of product, power failures, spills, fires, explosions, and any other related emergency situations. During emergency situations it may be necessary for the “B” operator to don a Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA).
    • Collects and analyzes process samples.
    • Maintains housekeeping duties in assigned zones and conducts safety inspections.
    • Recycles drums of recyclable material as required.
    • Participate in all aspects of the safety program including safety meeting attendance and participation.
    • Operates a fork lift to move and/or re-locate material or equipment.
    • The Dry “B” operator is responsible for processing all blends in the designated packaging or drum.  Operator is responsible for reworking recycled product back into the correct mix if product is not in specification. 
    • Upon completion of drum or package the Dry “B” operator must place the correct identification labels, assign lot numbers and a sample taken for QAQC certification on the package daily. 
    • Daily/shift production must be transported by forklift to 24 hour storage.
    • Responsible for filing all inventory tags in the designed file in numerical order and complete the required production reports for inventory control reporting.
    • Performs other duties and assignments as directed by supervisor.
    • Assist other operators or co-workers as needed.

    What You’ll Bring

    • High school diploma and/or completed a process technology degree and/or 3 years of previous operator experience. Preferred 3 months of forklift experience.
    • Ability to wear respiratory protective equipment for extended periods of time, while operating a forklift.
    • Ability to speak and comprehend verbal instruction with respirator on in order to effectively communicate with coworkers as well as monitoring equipment.
    • Must be able to wear SCBA gear during emergency situations.
    • Ability to ascend stairs up to 80’ in height.
    • Ability to perform shift work with some overtime and call-outs.
    • Requires good communications skills and the ability to function in a team environment.
    • The ability to follow oral or written instructions, set procedures, work rules and standards.
    • Pass physical & drug test.
