Assists customers through the loan process by researching and answering customer inquiries, clarifying details, and coordinating with internal parties. SUMMARY
Examines, evaluates, and approves or recommends approval of member applications for lines or extension of lines of credit, home equity, collection workouts, consumer credit loans, indirect loans, and credit card accounts. Provides guidance and training to other credit analysts, handles loan approvals that are above the limits of the other credit analysts, takes escalated rehash calls, and provides leadership and guidance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Reviews and decisions loan applications from both the direct and indirect channels.
Analyzes credit data and financial statements to determine credit-worthiness and the degree of risk involved in extending credit or lending money; considers property valuation in decisioning as appropriate.
Operates with a higher approval authority than other credit analysts and makes notes in applications that require this authority.
Provides guidance and training on difficult or complicated loan requests
Accountable for the performance of individual loan portfolio.
Handles escalated dealer and branch rehash calls.
Proactively reaches out to branch managers and dealer F&I managers to address issues, or concerns regarding discrepancies with application information as well as communication challenges from branch and dealer staff members.
Analyzes previously decisioned loan applications and makes suggestions to management for adjusting and improving lending procedures.
Reviews the portfolio performance spread sheet and analyzes the specific loan products, credit tiers, and specific dealers that are not performing up to standard. Makes recommendations to Lending management to improve underwriting and overall efficiency of the lending process.
Provides consultant services on credit issues and quality to other departments.
Assists in testing changes in lending system and host system programming.
Maintains the security and confidentiality of pertinent information and records.
Maintains a positive and caring atmosphere for members and employees consistent with the Credit Union's mission and philosophy.
Responsible for maintaining a working knowledge of computer equipment and software required including Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University; and three (3) years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
OTHER KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Working knowledge of computer equipment and software required including Microsoft Office Suite. An understanding of state and federal laws.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before customers or employees of organization
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

WORK SCHEDULE
Must be able to work flexible shifts whether it is 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, 9:00 am to 6:00 pm or 10:00 am to 7:00 pm. Monday through Friday and at least two Saturday’s per month.
