Consumer Credit Manager supervises underwriting operations and oversees the loan application review process to determine loan eligibility and terms. Coordinates the day-to-day activities of the underwriting team to ensure that loan screening is conducted timely, accurately, and in compliance with all regulations. Being a Consumer Credit Manager provides loan options or product recommendations based on qualifications and keeps the team updated and informed of new products, regulations, or product changes. Assists customers through the loan process by researching and answering complex or unique customer inquiries, clarifying details, and coordinating with internal parties. Additionally, Consumer Credit Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Consumer Credit Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Consumer Credit Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     What you’ll get to do 
    • Lead a staff of Portfolio Managers and Represenatives staff where applicable. 
    • Responsible for managing the credit granting process, including the consistent application of a credit policy, periodic credit reviews of existing customer, and the assessment of the creditworthiness of potential customers
    • Secure and enforce statutory payment rights on a timely basis with respect to Builders Lien and Payment Bond law.
    • Understand and provide solutions to balance the goal of maximizing sales while minimizing credit risk.
    • Cultivate and maintain enduring relationships with external customers to enhance customer relations. 
    • Where open account sales are not appropriate, develop alternative methods to sell marginal customers on risk mitigating terms.
    • Develop effective relationships with all relevant internal customers.  Provide pertinent value-added information and recommendations on a timely basis to Sales and Management.
    • Work closely with the Legal and Lien Processing teams.  Ensure that litigation files are communicated and transferred to the Litigation team on a timely basis to maximize potential recovery of doubtful accounts.  Accumulate and retain all data and evidence necessary to allow successful prosecution.
    • Minimize DSO and other KPI’s directly and indirectly by championing disciplinted credit processes, procedures, and focus
    • Facilitate regional leadership AR discussions and reviews

    • Proficiency in SAP, Oracle, JDE, GetPAID software an asset.
    • Direct industry experience an asset.
