Consumer Credit Supervisor supervises underwriting operations and oversees the loan application review process to determine loan eligibility and terms. Coordinates the day-to-day activities of the underwriting team to ensure that loan screening is conducted timely, accurately, and in compliance with all regulations. Being a Consumer Credit Supervisor provides loan options or product recommendations based on qualifications and keeps the team updated and informed of new products, regulations, or product changes. Assists customers through the loan process by researching and answering complex or unique customer inquiries, clarifying details, and coordinating with internal parties. Additionally, Consumer Credit Supervisor requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Consumer Credit Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be a Consumer Credit Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. As a Consumer Credit Expert within PNC's Credit Risk Management organization, this position is primarily based in a location within PNC's footprint. Responsibilities require time in the office or in the field on a regular basis. Some responsibilities can be performed remotely at manager's discretion.

    This position is a part of Consumer Credit Risk Management within the Independent Risk Management Organization. The role will support oversight of the Consumer Credit Card Line of Business. The ideal candidate will possess the following experience and/or skills:

    • Credit Card risk management, product or operational experience
    • Portfolio Management expertise
    • Ability to drive and challenge analytic solutions
    • Collaborative approach to problem solving
    • Knowledge of industry trends and regulatory requirements that impact Consumer Lending

    Job Description

    • Reviews activities associated with applicable business segment, including the credit approval process, policy and procedural compliance and portfolio risk management, credit monitoring, and reporting.
    • Maintains in depth knowledge of consumer credit policy and ensures adherence to policy. Deploys appropriate monitoring mechanisms of early performance to manage expected outcomes.
    • Monitors credit by leveraging relevant reporting and assessing trends to identify risk incidences, requests ad - hoc analytics from APM, oversees follow-up, and analyzes output to inform decision - making.
    • Manages and updates credit transaction models utilized within defined asset class and activity and ensures adherence to model management processes (i.e., model validation, testing, maintenance) by ensuring the appropriate resources are in place to adhere to MRMG guidance.
    • Follows and recognizes economic, regulatory, and other trends affecting borrowers and initiates relevant analyses, by leveraging key analytic partners, and discussions to determine potential impacts on policy. Reviews validation outputs on data produced and delivered; ensures that work set is completed and that the right conversations are taking place to execute deliverables.

    Quantitative Techniques – Knowledge of and ability to use quantitative tools and techniques to measure and analyze risks.

    Risk Management Policies and Procedures – Knowledge of and ability to create, implement, evaluate, and enhance risk management policies and procedures.

    Roles at this level typically require a university / college degree. Higher level education such as a Masters degree, or PhD is desirable. Industry experience is typically 8 years. Specific certifications are often required. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
