Join Our Team as a VP, Commercial Lending at IH Mississippi Valley Credit Union!

This role is located at our beautiful headquarters located on River Drive in Moline, IL. This facility includes a comfortable office environment with an on-site gym facility.

Summary of Position:

This Vice President role oversees the Commercial Lending department, both sales and underwriting. Within authorized authority, and in accordance with sound underwriting practices as set out in policy and procedure, develops business relationships, originates, underwrites, evaluates, and recommends approval, and monitors business members' lending and depository needs. This role is very visible within our organization and close collaboration is key to ensuring the members get the best possible experience and appropriate services for their business.

Experience Required:

• Bachelor's degree in business/finance or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Thorough knowledge of laws and regulations applicable to Commercial Lending. An understanding of risks associated with various loan types.
• Commercial credit sales, development, and the ability to establish strategic growth objectives.

Main Responsibilities:

• Develop and grow the team's skillset and support their career growth. Ensure lenders, underwriting and loan administration work together with the members best interest in mind while keeping the credit union protected.
• Prospect, originate, underwrite and service business/commercial relationships.
• Utilize trended data analysis to develop/support strategic direction for the commercial portfolio.
• Manage and maintain a commercial loan portfolio of $250 million that adheres to loan policy and maintains a satisfactory risk rating.
• Service and facilitate business member deposit needs with a conscience awareness of balancing credit union liquidity needs.
• Analyzes applicant financial status, credit, cash flow and collateral evaluation to determine feasibility of granting loan and prepares loan Presentation Summaries in cooperation with the credit department to present to the Executive Loan Committee for approval.
• Complete annual reviews in a timely manner in accordance with the requirements set forth in loan policy and procedures.
• Ensure the loans with covenants or those requiring borrowing bases are in compliance with the loan agreement at all times.
• Ensures loan documents are complete and accurate according to policy and requirements set out in regulation.
• Cross-sells borrowers on the benefits of utilizing other credit union services.
• Coordinate the offering of all IHMVCU products and services to business members and their employees.
• Maintain current knowledge of regulatory changes and procedures for business lending and depository accounts.
• Responsible for making sales calls to develop and maintain business relationships to include loans and deposits.
• Oversee business credit card portfolio performance and growth
• Ensure ACH compliance for business members is adhered to
• Other duties as assigned
