Description

The primary purpose of this position is to perform all necessary loan document preparation, member contact and loan funding for all consumer loan types. Additional responsibilities include loan servicing duties with regard to Home Equity and Auto loans; ensuring all loan documents are complete, liens secured, GL’s accurate, files in retention and escrow accounts are serviced according to Dover Federal Credit Union’s policies and requirements.

Requirements

• Review direct auto loans prior to loan closing/funding, for quality and consistency with policies, procedures, and DMV title requirements by state.
• Create loan documents for all consumer loans ready for closing, contact member as needed, secure send documents, track return of fully executed documents, fund the loan and book the loan on our core system.
• Responsible for the loan servicing functions: securing liens, validating insurance, processing claims, managing the escrow process including the annual analysis and interaction with government offices.
• Responds to telephone and written inquiries regarding Auto and Home Equity loan servicing questions. Prepares and mails correspondence to new and existing members.
• Ensures all loan document files are complete and accurate according to policies and requirements set out in regulation with regard to loan document creation, loan funding, recorded documents, lien filings, proof of insurance, property taxes and scanned or retained under proper conditions. Manages the release of all liens and close out of files upon payment in full: Mortgage satisfactions, DMV Lien release, UCC release, etc.
• Remains knowledgeable in all credit union procedures, industry news and NCUA and state and government requirements pertaining to required loan documents, recorded documents, DMV requirements, securing liens, Collateral Protection Insurance, GAP waivers, Debt Protection claims, flood and hazard insurance and any other topics as they arise in the course of the Lending Specialist function.
• Responsible for securing required bills/invoices and disbursement of checks to vendors, if applicable which include homeowners and flood insurance, property taxes, DMV filings, Auto insurance, proof of total loss and filing claims.
• Daily proof of all related general ledgers accounts: Appraisals, Credit Report, County Clerk, DMV, UCC, DealerTrack, etc.
• Performs related duties and responsibilities as required and other duties as assigned.

Job Specifications

• Requires education equivalent to a four-year high school education.
• Minimum 2 years lending experience required.
• Professional, well developed interpersonal skills essential for communication with Dover FCU vendors and projecting a positive image as a representative of the credit union.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize according to time constraints.
• Ability to work independently.
• Ability to work flexible hours to coincide with the business hours of the branches.
• Accuracy, attention to details and analytical.
• Intermediate mathematical skills required (calculations and concepts involving decimals, percentages, fractions, etc.)
• Intermediate knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office Applications, specifically MS Word and Excel preferred.
