Consumer Loan Officer develops and services consumer loans. Interviews loan applicants to determine financing needs and to offer the appropriate loan products and repayment arrangements. Being a Consumer Loan Officer evaluates loan applications and applicant creditworthiness. Once a loan is approved and negotiated, monitors loan payments, and provides customer service to ensure the borrower's questions are answered and needs are met, and that the loan is repaid appropriately. Additionally, Consumer Loan Officer maintains accurate and thorough records, and follows all applicable organizational, state, and federal policies and regulations. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Consumer Loan Officer works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. We're hiring a Consumer Loan Opener/Post Closer to join our Consumer Lending Support Team.
This position is responsible for the review of new Consumer Applications and the review and delivery of closed Consumer/Home Equity loan packets to loan servicing. This requires coordination between multiple parties, attention to detail and the ability to work under deadlines.
Responsibilities Include:
Review Consumer Loan applications received for completeness
Ensure timely input of application information into loan software
Assemble loan folders
Review Consumer and Home Equity closing packages for completeness and compliance for delivery to
Loan Servicing to ensure the new loan is opened accurately in a timely manner
Uploading all Home Equity documents and ensuring information is accurately completed in Encompass prior to delivery of documents to Loan Servicing
Maintain a log of trailing and missing documents and follow-up on a timely basis with the respective party to ensure all documents are received and the loan files are complete
Ensure HMDA data is entered correctly accurately in Encompass on each loan
Track loan closings each month to ensure all documents for each loan are received
Monitor Team email boxes to ensure all information is received and update in a timely manner
Prepare and mail Adverse Action Letters for Consumer Loans
Perform additional duties as assigned including learning duties within the Consumer Department team in order to assist as a back up
Responsible for compliance with laws and regulations that apply to this position, including the Univest Code of Conduct
High school diploma or equivalent
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while interacting with branch staff, sales staff, vendors, and customers
Must be highly organized, detail oriented and able to work within multiple deadlines
Demonstrated ability to work through and resolve problems
Ability to learn quickly and work with multiple systems
Must possess a positive attitude, strong communication and customer service skills
Knowledge of consumer loan guidelines, regulations and requirements preferred
Knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred
