Consumer Products Technician

Position Summary

With all tools and training provided, technicians performs basic unit "repair" consisting of the swapping of basic components (casings, control panels, etc.) from disfunctional units to increase recovery; requires the use of basic hand/power tools; typically operates on the line or in a technicians department with direct and constant supervision. Technicians should be naturally curious, detail-oriented, and able to follow instructions. They must be able to read and interpret manuals and utilize video-based resources to determine failures and root causes.

Responsibilities

• Technician operates powered and manual hand tools
• Technician maintains physical and digital control of inventory at work bench and surrounding area
• Technician manages a bench level inventory of harvested parts to facilitate repairs
• Technician diagnoses units, troubleshoots failed components, and replaces defective parts
• Technician completes digital tests/upgrades on items using an ERP system
• Technician operates independently without constant direct supervision

Prerequisites

• At least 6 months' experience doing repair work on small household appliances
• Demonstrable experience with basic electrical diagnosis and repair
• Familiarity with computers to support data entry
• Strong problem solving and diagnostic skills

Qualifications

• Technician must be able to work at a fast pace
• Technician must be able to follow directions
• Technician must have an appreciation for a safe work environment and must be able to understand OSHA and other safety regulations that apply to the operation of production equipment and handling of cleaning supplies and chemicals used in repairing products
• Technician must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Technician must be able to operate a pallet jack

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour

Schedule:

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience:

• Small Appliance repair: 2 years (Required)
• Mechanical Knowledge: 2 years (Required)
• Electrical experience: 1 year (Required)
