The Medical Payment Processor is responsible for reviewing and interpreting explanation of benefits (EOBs) from insurance carriers and posting the related transactions to patient accounts. This position is essential to the process of settling claims and ensuring the patient receives their statement in a timely manner so that we can stay in compliance with patient billing legislation. Fulfilling this role involves having a broad understanding of billing and collection processes and insurance terminology, as well as an excellent attention to details and analytical skills.

Required Skills:
1. Has fundamental understanding of basic math calculations and health insurance terminology
2. Working knowledge of computer systems with strong keyboarding skills, and the ability to learn new programs
3. Must be willing and able to maintain confidentiality and use discretion in carrying out duties
4. Has strong organizational skills and excellent problem solving capabilities, as well as having a high the level of attention to detail and accuracy
5. Must feel comfortable interacting professionally with patients as well as with hospital employees and physicians
Minimum Work Experience:
1. One year of experience in medical billing, admitting, or scheduling preferred
