WHO WE ARE: Quality Glass Fabrication is a leading domestic fabricator of high-volume glass products that supports the Shower Enclosure market in North America. The company is part of the Quality Enclosures family, which was established in 1963, and remains a family owned and operated business.
POSITION SUMMARY: The Plant Manager reports to the COO and is responsible for the complete budget, staffing, payroll, production build, planning/scheduling, and execution of all manufacturing duties by focusing on the safety of every teammate, building the best possible quality product, and delivering complete and on time orders by following the SQDC principles of Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost. This position requires solid people skills, execution of build plans along with a solid understanding of manufacturing.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITES:
- Ensure the protection of the Quality Glass Fabrication, Inc. brand, facility, teammates, and assets within the property.
- Manage all aspects of the facility to include budgeting, scheduling, planning, building, receiving, shipping, maintenance, as well as all startup and shutdown procedures.
- Ensure that all work is done in compliance with established safety procedures.
- Monitor all scheduling of product on order, finished goods in the warehouse, and review the pipeline of orders as a tool to assure effective decision making.
- Provides leadership to ensure teammates demonstrate appropriate work skills, technical accuracy, efficiency, and conformity to company policies.
- Meets with support team and supervisors to determine daily and weekly work priorities and adjust work activities accordingly.
- Serves as the contact person for all locations/markets, supervisors, and management team to answer questions or concerns impacting customer/manufacturing concerns.
- Relays and shares information with locations/markets, supervisors, management team in a timely manner.
- Documents daily performance (Op’s scorecard, daily Ops update report, Products on Order update, FG’s).
- Maintain proper inventory levels to efficiently meet production demands.
- Partner with Human Resources to effectively manage all aspects of the employee lifecycle.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- High School diploma required, College or Technical education preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing and leadership (>5 years) preferred.
- Must actively participate as a member of the team and be willing to maintain high levels of productivity, occasionally sustaining longer working hours when necessary.
- Must be able to work flexible hours and adapt to changing work requirements.
- Must demonstrate high attention to detail, organization, analytical and critical thinking, decision-making, quality control, and proven team management and coaching abilities.
- A passion for manufacturing with a desire to develop and lead teams.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must have good vision, speech, hearing, and physical ability to perform essential job functions.
- Must have good awareness of surroundings.
- Must be in good physical condition, must have full body rotation and mobility (i.e. bending, stooping, twisting, reaching, etc.) to perform essential job functions.
- Ability to exert up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally and up to 50 lbs.pounds of force frequently with the ability to lift 75 lbs.
- Ability to work while standing for an extended period of time.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include the ability to focus and to differentiate between colors and shades of colors.
- Ability to work in both air-conditioned and non-air-conditioned environments.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Works primarily indoors but not limited. All employees should be aware when walking into the Warehouse there may be some exposure to sharp and rapid equipment movement, sharp utensils & materials. Please use caution when walking through warehouse and loading docks to stay clear of production workers. Safety is our priority - mandatory PPE required in production areas.
