Scheduling Coordinator

Scheduling Coordinator Requirements:

• Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and one year experience in creating complex schedules in staffing, human resources, payroll, or a closely related field.

Responsibilities of a Scheduling Coordinator:

• Is responsible to schedule all nursing personnel to ensure daily staffing levels meet both regulatory and administratively established staffing levels.
• May be responsible to schedule other departmental personnel as directed.
• Shall schedule personnel in accordance with collective bargaining agreements.
• Shall be responsible for staffing on a 24 hour/7-day basis.
• Distributes schedules to personnel at least two weeks prior to the commencement of the work schedule.
• Generates reports as requested by the Executive Director.
• Tracks daily the number of staff hours per patient day.
• Determines work assignments and work locations for all personnel the position schedules.
• Maintains various rosters of personnel for purposes such as call-in substitution, float personnel, per diem eligibility, overtime volunteers.
• Determines and assigns vacation time and other time off in accordance with union contracts and by order of request submission.
• Works with various department manager to determine excused and unexcused absences.
• Maintains a log of employees who have excessive absenteeism and patterns of absenteeism or tardiness.
• Tracks absenteeism due to FMLA's and other approved leaves of absence.
