    Job Summary
    We seek an experienced concrete person who will help with flat work, foundation footings, and foundation walls.  This will include shooting grade, excavation, backfill, drain tile installation, laying and tying rebar, forming footings, drop footings, stepped foundation walls, flat work of all kinds.  The position will include equipment operation such as a skid steer and excavator.   An experienced self-starter is a must.  The ability and willingness to adapt is critical.  Experience as an equipment operator is helpful.  The position involves a variety of projects, many of which will be self-supervised.  
     
    Requirements
    We will hire an employee who understands the value of customer service.  We need an experienced craftsman who has the willingness to learn and desire to work.   A SD Driver’s license is required.  A Class A CDL is desirable but not required.  The employee must be physically capable of doing manual work and lifting at least 75 lbs.  Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions.
     
    Hours We Expect You to Work – We generally work 40 to 60 hours per week – depending on the time of year.  During summer months our crew works longer days.  Typical hours in summer include:
    Monday thru Friday – 6 AM to 5 PM 
    Saturday – 7 AM to 1 PM 
     
    We sometimes have special projects that require weekends or evening work.  A few examples would be a hard deadline or a project that can only be done in the evening or on weekend.  This is a year-round position.  You will work more during warm months but generally 40 hours during the winter.
     
    Travel
    Overnight travel is required.  Most of our jobs are within 90 miles of Fort Pierre.  We do housing projects that require overnight travel.  When we go out of town, we work longer days and generally, our crew will leave on a Monday and return on a Friday.  We provide lodging and pay an extra $20 per person per day for overnight travel.  We pay for the time it takes to get to the job.  We do not pay the hours for the return trip from the job.  We furnish a vehicle.
     
    Compensation Package
    ·       Hourly Pay – For the right person, we will pay over $21/hour – We also pay overtime
    ·       Health Insurance – Paid in Full for Employee – Blue Cross/Blue Shield
    ·       Paid Time Off – one week after six months – thereafter–3.05 hours per two week pay period.  We allow employees to carryover one week of vacation at the end of the year.
    ·       Holidays – New Year’s Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Memorial Day, Thanksgiving and Christma
     

    Specific duties may include but are not limited to:

    Site Preparation for manufactured and modular homes
    ·       Four corner and set elevations for homes
    ·       Complete site preparation 

    Concrete
    ·       Pour concrete pier foundations, crawl space foundations, and basements
    ·       Pour concrete including sidewalks and driveways
    ·       Build air conditioner pads with dirt and set concrete on top for a pad

    Retention Walls
    ·       Set grade and pour footings along with installing drainage for retention walls
    ·       Install retention walls as needed for home sets

    Grading
    ·       Slope ground for drainage & install drainage systems as necessary
    ·       Grade yards for preparation of a crane set

    Equipment operation and maintenance
    ·       Skid steer
    ·       Mini-Excavator
    ·       Plate packer and trencher

    Our crews are cross-trained and if concrete is slow, we have the concrete crew help with other projects such as:

    Installation of Homes
    ·       Crane or roll homes onto their foundation
    ·       Set, block & level houses
    ·       Anchoring homes 
    ·       Install insulated skirting

    On-site Improvements
    ·       Build decks
    ·       Install retention walls as needed for home sets

    Interior and Exterior Finish of Homes
    ·       Build dormers and hip roofs on homes
    ·       Install shingles, ridge cap or steel on roofs
    ·       Siding and shake installation
    ·       Reset and adjust walk doors, cabinet doors & drawers
    ·       Secure and install trim
    ·       Drywall repair & painting
    ·       Appliance hook-up along with tightening drains & checking for water leaks 
    ·       Install light bulbs and install fan blades on ceiling fans
    ·       Window installation and repair

    Water and sewer
    ·       Install meter pits and curb boxes
    ·       Extend water and sewer lines

    Other jobs
