This position is responsible for content management by curating, organizing, and ensuring the consistency of content across Osceola County’s online platforms, especially Osceola.org. This role ensures that the content is accurate, up-to-date, and user-friendly. Work includes having a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and a deep understanding of the web content lifecycle. This position collaborates with various departments to gather and refine content, ensuring it aligns with the County's brand and messaging guidelines. This role emphasizes the importance of content quality, user experience, and the overall presentation of information to our web visitors. Duties require independent judgment and the ability to work alone and as a member of a team.

- Manages and updates website content for publication on Osceola.org and other County web platforms.
- Collaborates with different department teams to gather and refine content for online publication.
- Reviews content for accuracy, consistency, and adherence to County brand guidelines.
- Gathers feedback from web visitors to understand content preferences and areas of improvement.
- Monitors content performance metrics to identify trends and areas for optimization.
- Maintains detailed records of content updates, publication schedules, and feedback.
- Collaborates with web developers and designers to integrate content seamlessly into website designs.
- Optimizes content for search engines to increase website visibility.
- Ensures all content meets copyright laws and secures necessary permissions for content use.
- Develops and maintains a content calendar to ensure timely content updates.
- Trains other team members on content management systems and best practices.
- Stays updated on the latest trends in web content management.
- Ensures website tools such as chat operate effectively.
- Performs duties as assigned/necessary which are related, or logical assignment to the position.
- Emergency Responsibilities: During emergency conditions, all County employees are automatically considered emergency service workers. County employees are subject to being called to work in the event of a disaster, such as a hurricane, or other emergency situation and are expected to perform emergency service duties, as assigned.
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Digital Media, Web Design, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, or related field.
Experience: Two (2) years of experience in web content management. An equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience may be considered in lieu of required education or experience.
Preferred:
- Experience with web analytics tools such as Google Analytics
- Knowledge of HTML and CSS.
- Experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Bilingual, with proficiency in English and Spanish
Miscellaneous: Must possess and maintain a valid Florida Driver's License.
- Proficiency in content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress, Joomla, or Drupal.
- Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with SEO best practices.
- Knowledge and ability to test multiple interfaces and/or browsers for optimal performance.
- Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.
- Skill in organizational and proactive communication functions.
- Skill in accurate, effective, and concise writing, and correct context.
- Skill in copy writing, proofing, and editing.

- 20 pounds maximum lifting.
- Rare lifting, carrying up to 10 lbs.
- If less lifting is involved it will require significant walking/standing.
- If mostly sitting is involved it will require push/pull on arm or leg controls.

- Good eyesight for production or safety of self and others.
- Physical agility is required in kneeling, bending, stooping, and reaching.
