Job Summary

The Staff Web Applications Engineer will serve as a member of a team that is responsible for the maintenance and development of several web applications. The Web Applications team is responsible for all aspects of the applications including database, UI, and middle tier development. Projects are executed utilizing an Agile development process to ensure that we are meeting the needs of the product stakeholders. This is a senior level position which will be responsible for application design, implementing best programming practices, and collaborating with other team members.

Essential Functions

• Assess existing application architecture and work as part of the development team in modifying that architecture for forward development.
• Develop effective software solutions by evaluating options, conducting research, gathering information, interpreting data and working with stakeholders.
• Implement software solutions individually, requiring little to no direct supervision.
• Collaborate with peers in other teams/departments, understand the overall goal of the project and formulate solutions that best achieves technical and business requirements.
• Promote industry standard practices for all aspects of development from use of appropriate technology to coding standards
• Ensure software meets all requirements of quality, security, scalability, extensibility.
• Meet deadlines for individual and team projects.
• Participate in initiatives to improve efficiency and productivity of the department, refine development methodologies to improve productivity of the department.

Required/Preferred Education and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree In Computer Science, Information Science, or equivalent
  required
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in web application development required and
• Experience building highly scalable, cloud-native microservices based applications using AWS and/or Azure with Docker, Node.js, and serverless technologies required and
• Experience in computer scripting languages and object-oriented languages, preferably JavaScript and C# required and
• Experience in relational and NoSQL databases required and
• Experience in Agile development process

• Medical devices preferred and
• Handheld or wearable devices preferred and
• Regulatory compliance standards preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Knowledge of related web technologies, possess broad and extensive knowledge of software development process and its technologies
• Knowledge of architectural styles and design patterns
• Highly motivated to learn and work in a team environment
• Demonstration of excellent code quality and efficiency
• Good communication and problem-solving skills
