Social and Digital Content Coordinator

  • The Operations and Advancement team oversees a strategic selection of campus enterprises and responsibilities, including Facilities Management and the campus physical plant and construction, Auxiliary Services, Hispanic Serving Institution Initiatives, Alumni Relations, Marketing, Communications, and Community Relations, and the Denver-based Advancement team. This diverse portfolio allows our teams to imagine long-term partnerships; support a campus master planning initiative; establish new fundraising opportunities as long-term, drivers for new and evolving academic and student experiences; developing meaningful relationship and pipelines with our alumni graduates; and message and share CSU Pueblo’s statewide engagement and impact to stakeholders in Denver and beyond. Our team's objective is to build and strengthen CSU Pueblo’s ten initiatives of Vision 2028, and support the campus ecosystem, as we work toward achieving the three wildly important goals of the university: elevating the appeal of campus, enhancing student success, and developing our people.

    MCCR serves as the campus source for communications with internal and external constituents and plays a leading role in conveying CSU Pueblo’s mission and image to stakeholders. We strive for accuracy in information, consistency in presentation, and quality in productThis position is responsible for creating compelling, audience-appropriate, multi-channel, digital content that engages and builds relationship with target audiences (prospective students, current students, alumni, donors, faculty/staff, industry partners). This position will manage, organize, and implement a wide range of projects to elevate the CSU Pueblo brand and digital presence.

    This position will serve as part of the CSU Pueblo MCCR team and will play a lead role in managing organic and paid social and digital media strategy. The position is responsible for content creation and distribution, brand management and analytic assessment to guide the strategic and editorial direction to enhance the digital reputation of CSU Pueblo and its initiatives.

    The Social and Digital Content Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the voice and tone of CSU Pueblo on social media channels such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and more.

    The Social and Digital Content Coordinator plays a key role within MCCR. This position will collaborate with colleagues within MCCR to utilize multimedia assets to position CSU Pueblo digital channels as vital branding vehicles for telling the University’s stories, building affinity, and increasing the University’s digital profile.

    Primary Duties

    • Research, write, and edit engaging content for digital platforms.
    • Develop and implement visual content for all digital platforms (directing video projects, editing videos, designing graphics optimized for digital platforms, shoot, and edit photos).
    • Create, repurpose, and post content on social media.
    • Create and manage content calendar for digital engagements.
    • Ensure that college stories are posted to website.
    • Manage multiple projects on tight deadlines while coordinating with MCCR and campus leadership on strategy, goals, assignments, and schedules as needed.
    • Manage all Colorado State University Pueblo social media platforms. Primary administrator and responsible for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and LinkedIn accounts.
    • Provide monitoring of social and digital media venues and independently respond to posted commentary and direct messages to ensure that the university image is protected, and the brand is communicated consistently and appropriately across all channels.
    • Identify and provide enriching opportunities for audiences to interact and engage with CSU Pueblo in the social space – facilitate discussion and build relationship with fans.
    • Attend major events to cover on social media, as well as assist in outreach booths, as needed.
    • Responsible for recording and reporting out monthly social media data, analyzing the data, and drawing conclusions to provide strategic direction.
    • Continuously improve digital content through use of web analytics, social media data, industry insights, and best practices.
    • Monitor Critical Mention social listening platform to report on social trends and mentions.
    • Meet regularly with campus departments and program directors to gather content/story ideas.
    • Collaborate with other campus social media managers on university-wide initiatives.
    • Assist Creative Director and other MCCR staff with projects and duties, as assigned.
    Ancillary Duties
    Represent MCCR (or Operations and Advancement) at university meetings, on committees, or in support of university operations or advancement


    Salary Range
    $43,000-$58,000
    Minimum Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Communications, or related field.
    • Demonstrated excellent writing skills and experience crafting compelling copy for a diverse range of audiences using digital and/or multimedia platforms.
    • Strong knowledge of social media trends.
    • Knowledge of basic editing software such as Canva or Capcut.
    • Demonstrated commitment to enhancing diversity through inclusive design and language
    • Two years of demonstrated professional experience in creating and managing social media initiatives for a brand or business on a variety of social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat, etc.); or relevant digital communications experience.
    • Two, or more, years of professional experience in social media management, marketing, communications, or related field.
    • Demonstrated experience in multimedia asset creation in a professional setting (photography, videography, motion graphics, graphic design).
    • Demonstrated exceptional experience in integrated social media brand management and training on a variety of social channels (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, etc.).
    • Demonstrated experience with creating and implementing social media advertising campaigns.
    • Experience in a position requiring exceptional organizational and project management skills.
    • Experience in a position requiring interpersonal skills and collaborative team approaches.
    • Experience using the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere) to create visual media.
    • Experience using social media scheduling tools.

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Master’s degree in Communications or related field.
    • Bilingual/Spanish.
    • Google Analytics Certification.
    • Experience with Meta Business Suite, Hootsuite.
    • Familiar with Google Analytics.
    • Final Cut Pro or professional video editing software.
    • Demonstrated experience with social media or website data collection and analytics.
    • Experience working in higher education marketing or agency work.
    • Experience using content management systems, such as WordPress, to create, format and distribute content.
