Position: Secondary Content Specialist
Reports to: Executive Director of Secondary Education
Terms of Employment: 11 months
Pay Range: $4,217.27 - $7,789.68 monthly
FLSA Status: Exempt
Nature of Work
Under general supervision, performs a variety of administrative tasks in coordinating the successful implementation of the instructional programs in the Craven County school system. Employee is responsible for interpreting changes to the North Carolina Curriculum, informing teachers and principals of the implications of those changes, and ensuring that instruction is aligned with curriculum goals. Employee coaches teachers with developing strategies and techniques for assessing and and increasing student achievement. Employee also assists teachers with textbook and other materials selection and provides teachers various tools to aid instruction. Employee assists administrators with evaluating the effectiveness of instructional programs in the school system and develops strategies for improvement. Serves as a stable resource of instructional programs, resources, progress monitoring, and professional development throughout the district. Reports to the appropriate supervisor.
