Job description
Position: Program Director
Function: This is highly professional work that requires certification as a Certified Addiction Professional (CAP) and experience in planning, organizing, and administrating a social service treatment program. The Program Director will be accountable to the Executive Director for program implementation, planning, design and maintenance of the facility.
Responsibilities:
1. Oversees the day-to-day operation of assigned program(s) within the STEPS, Inc. agency.
2. Will provide assessment, evaluation and treatment services on an on-going basis consistent with program policy and the 65D-30, F.A.C.
3. Ability to review all month end transmissions to ensure all pertinent information is submitted by the 5th day of each month if necessary. This includes closed files, census rosters and transmittal sheets.
4. Responsible for developing programmatic policies and procedures and will supervise staff compliance.
5. Works with the Executive Director to ensure treatment and financial compliance with contracts and budgeting objectives.
6. Responsible for maintaining the overall cleanliness, safety, repairs and upkeep of the facility in which the program operates.
7. Directs weekly programmatic staffing if necessary.
8. Maintains positive public relations with the businesses and government to ensure a high quality of service delivery.
9. Maintain a high level of morale and productivity among supervisors and line staff.
10. Solidify program changes for the betterment of client services and successful outcomes.
11. Conducts quality assurance reviews to ensure compliance with regulatory agencies.
12. Schedules full and part-time employees to provide services in an economical and effective manner.
13. Report to the Florida Abuse Registry any and all suspected cases of abuse, neglect or exploitation as required by D.O.P. #150-1.
14. Additional responsibilities include but are not limited to interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
15. May be required to drive your personal vehicle for meetings, appointments, conferences, errands, etc.
16. May be required to drive the van to transport clients and/or their children if necessary.
17. Performs other related tasks as assigned.

13. Be willing to submit to random drug testing.
14. Must have thorough knowledge and understanding of the Clinical Documentation Manual.
Minimum Education, Experience and/or Training:
1. A Bachelor’s and/or Master’s Degree is required from an accredited institution in the field of human services. Preferred CAP, LMHC/LCSW
2. Must have training and expertise in clinical supervision and managerial skills.
3. Must have five (5) years of experience and knowledge in substance abuse and mental health field.
4. A minimum of two (2) years of abstinence if recovering from chemical dependency.
5. Must pass a required background screening every five (5) years.
6. A Valid Florida Driver’s License.
7. A thorough knowledge of laws governing driving and roads in the area.
8. Complete the twenty (20) hours of state mandated training requirements detailed in the Florida Administrative Code 65D-30 each fiscal year.
9. Complete the necessary sections of the Competency Checklist Packet with your supervisor within three (3) months in order to move from probationary to permanent status with the agency.
10. Complete four (4) hours AIDS training within six (6) months.
11. Complete CPR/First Aid Training within six (6) months.
