    Clackamas Community College (CCC) at the Oregon City campus, Oregon seeks to hire a Environmental Learning Center Continuing Education Coordinator [Part-Time].     Purpose of Position

    :

    The Environmental Learning Center (ELC) Continuing Education Coordinator provides oversight and leadership, as well as direct assistance for the ELC's professional development training program. Develop, plan and coordinate professional development workshops for people working in, or aspiring to work in, environmental careers. Coordinate with other industry partners, instructors and students on the planning and delivery of programs. Provide a variety of administrative services, including coordinating with staff to ensure that all elements necessary for successful program delivery are satisfied to include scheduling, registration, logistics, marketing and tracking of financial and assessment data.

    Essential Job Functions

    :
    • Course Development Coordination (50%)
      • Work with the Program Director to create an annual schedule of workshops, focused on providing hands-on training in the subjects that are most in-demand for environmental professionals.
      • Identify a suitable instructor for the course and work with them to develop learning outcomes and major topics for the course.
      • Provide guidance to instructor on strategies for effective engagement with students.
      • Assist with development of course materials as needed and ensure quality.
      • Establish independent contract with instructors and agree on work deliverables and pay.

    • Workshop Coordination and Assistance (40%)
      • Schedule workshops based on best timing and availability of facilities.
      • Arrange access to off-campus facilities and coordinate all aspects of workshop delivery, including: van scheduling, drivers, staff to assist with check-in, room set-up and catering, etc.
      • Create and manage Eventbrite events for registration. Ensure that term masters, outlines and back-door registration are completed. Maintain attendance records.
      • Create and maintain workshop materials. Ensure that all materials are available for both the lecture and field portions of class.
      • Request pre-approval of continuing education credits from outside agencies as needed.
      • Coordinate collection and summarization of program and student evaluations. Make recommendations and/or corrective action as deemed necessary. Share summary results with Director as requested.

    • Financial and Marketing (10%)
      • Assist in the development, implementation, and evaluation of fundraising plans, including program grants, annual giving and endowments.
      • Ensure that the program is profitable by managing expenses, sponsorships and registration numbers.
      • Award scholarship, or reduce fee support, to qualified individuals.
      • Develop, implement and evaluate a marketing plan to meet strategic financial and program goals.
      • Conduct outreach activities necessary to achieve enrollment goals. This includes coordinating with Marketing Coordinator/Department to create marketing materials, etc.
      • Coordinate with local and regional governments, educational institutions, businesses, and other community partners for programs.

    General Job Functions:
    • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, other agencies, and the general public.
    • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the classification.
    • Participate in college committees when requested.
    • Maintain proficiency by attending training and meetings, reading materials, and meeting with others in areas of responsibility, which may require travel.
    • Maintain work areas in a clean and orderly manner.
    • Maintain student confidentiality, data integrity, and comply with all related college, state, and federal standards, including the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA).

    Required Qualifications

    :
    Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology or any other related field and at least 2 years of directly related experience. Knowledge of environmental issues. Any equivalent combination of education and experience which provide the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform the duties as described.


    • Knowledge of and experience with educational institutions.

    • Experience teaching and/or developing curriculum.

    • Marketing and/or event planning experience.



    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience in adult education, particularly within a college environment.
    • Experience with professional development program planning and delivery.

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    :

    Supervision of others is not a typical function assigned to this position. May provide training and orientation to newly assigned personnel, and may assign work to student workers.
