    The Academic Director plays a central role in the academic development and operations of Convoy of Hope Education. This role supports Convoy of Hope Education through program direction, development, and representation.

     

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    1. Strategizes with the Vice President of Convoy of Hope Education on approach, framework, messaging, and continual academic development of Convoy of Hope Education.
    2. Collaborates with and identifies standards to be used in content development for academic courses, certificates, and badges.
    3. Works with Convoy of Hope Education, Convoy of Hope leadership, and institutions to assure consistent overall goals and outcomes of the academic program.
    4. Assists with memorandum of understanding (MOU) development and contracts with universities that ensure that Convoy of Hope owns the various courses that are created or adapted.
    5. Facilitates process and gathers content, under the direction of a university’s designated administrator, professor, online course developer, or the Vice President of Convoy of Hope Education for course development.
    6. Assists Convoy of Hope Education in facilitating adoption of the academic program both internally and externally through consistent messaging and materials.
    7. Communicates with various presidents, deans, faculty, and leaders (both in-person and online), as directed by the Vice President of Convoy of Hope Education.
    8. Directs the recommendation of and communication with adjunct professors for academic partners, facilitating contracts through scope of contract fulfilment.  
    9. Gathers content that demonstrates Convoy of Hope’s compassion, ensuring the principles and methods are included in various courses.
    1. Provides supervisory support to Student Experience Manager, including PTO approval, schedule coordination, oversight of program, and assignment of duties.
    2. Fulfills other duties as assigned.

     

    Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

    1. A master’s degree is preferred. A bachelor’s degree is required.
    2. Three or more years of experience in training, curriculum development, and office management is required.
    3. Proficient in PC and software programs, including Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google Workspace.
    4. Possesses strong organizational skills for handling several projects at one time and meticulous attention to detail.
    5. Exhibits excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    6. Demonstrates excellent grammar and punctuation skills for development of curriculum and written reports.
    7. Accurately and methodically follow verbal directions and written processes.
    8. Able and willing to travel domestically with the possibility of rare international travel.
    9. Attends and actively participates in Convoy of Hope’s At Home Week meetings and activities as a required responsibility to the organization and fellow team members.
    10. Serves as an advocate for the ministry, striving to nurture, broaden, and develop financial and other resource opportunities to support and expand organizational and program ministry.
    11. Positively represents the ministry of Convoy of Hope, including its mission statement and core values, to all outside constituencies.
    12. As a Christian organization, Convoy of Hope believes it is critical that team members embrace the organization's religious purposes for which it exists and not only agree with its Statement of Faith but demonstrate it in their lives on an ongoing basis.

     

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    This position provides supervisory support to Student Experience Manager, including PTO approval, schedule coordination, oversight of program, and assignment of duties. This position may supervise volunteers.
