Contracts Administration Director is responsible for all activities in the organization's contracts administration function. Oversees the preparation of proposals, negotiations, and the administration of contracts that follow company policies and legal requirements. Being a Contracts Administration Director directs and develops policies and processes that govern the contract administration staff and provide guidance on contract terms and the assessment of contract proposals. Has deep knowledge of the contract life cycle, types of contracts, and applicable government regulations. Additionally, Contracts Administration Director leads negotiations for complex or high-value contracts. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Sometimes requires certification like the NCMA Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM). Typically reports to senior management. The Contracts Administration Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Contracts Administration Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     General Summary:

    The Cancer Program Administrative Director provides administrative, operational, and strategic leadership for University of Michigan Health – West’s Cancer Services and is committed to creating a preeminent regional Cancer program featuring access to hematology/medical oncology services, infusions, sub-specialized services, diagnostics, and treatment capabilities and distinguished by a patient-centered, team-oriented approach to care. In close collaboration with University of Michigan Health - West designated roles, including President of the Medical Group, Associate Medical Director/UMHP physician representative and in conjunction with the Cancer Network of West Michigan Program Executives, the Cancer Program Administrative Director is accountable for the collaborative development, implementation, and ongoing success of the Cancer operational plan in conjunction with the Cancer Network of West Michigan Program Executives (Executive Medical Director and Administrative Director). The Administrative Director will monitor program growth, cost and financial metrics to ensure financial sustainability and make sure the program provides adequate access to the highest quality of Cancer care, holding operational leaders accountable for the consistent delivery of exceptional Cancer patient care

    Requirements:

    • Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration or closely related field.
    • Oncology clinician and/or clinical experience specific to oncology or cancer-related services
    • Ten (10) years or progressively more responsible cancer/oncology experience.
    • Five (5) years of management experience preferably in cancer/oncology services.
    • Strong understanding of both inpatient and outpatient cancer/oncology operations.
    • Demonstrated competence in building positive physician and staff relationships and effectively establish rapport easily even with potentially antagonistic individuals.
    • In depth working knowledge of healthcare administration, operations and departments.
    • Ability to formulate and execute operational plans and a demonstrated ability to manage complex operations.
    • Demonstrated leadership skills including staff development, planning, organizing, implementation, evaluation and maintenance of programs, projects and business operations.
    • Strong aptitude to analyze, evaluate and problem solve effectively, demonstrated familiarity with the application of computers in data analysis and budget management, and use of data-based decision-making methodologies; proven ability to build positive relationships with key stakeholders.
    • Work with little direction while being sensitive to issues requiring physician and /or committee involvement.
    • Read, analyze and interpret complex Cancer program components, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations and present to others in a readily comprehensible way.

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

    • Leads the planning, development, implementation, and ongoing assessment of the Cancer operational plan ensuring the continued advancement of the University of Michigan Health - West plan vision.
    • Collaborates with Senior Leadership and the Cancer Network of West Michigan to identify and develop Cancer strategies, operation plans, set priorities and establish long-term goals that focus on hematology/oncology and other subspecialties impacting cancer patients and referrals, i.e. lung, thoracic, GI, Neuro/Onc, etc.
    • Assess operational needs in order to recommend and establish effective cancer-related workforce planning decisions, including physician needs.
    • Monitors and assesses ongoing program cost and financial metrics to ensure the Cancer program is financially sustainable and provides cost effective services that meet all predetermined
    • Ensures the Cancer program consistently delivers the highest level of quality care, meeting or exceeding all established quality standards.
    • Monitors program access to ensure the community has appropriate access to the highest level of quality Cancer care and continually looks for opportunities to improve patient access and enhance all Cancer services offered to the community.
    • Ensure Cancer program strategies are well communicated and translated into actionable and quantitative plans.
    • Accountable for the development, implementation, and adherence with departmental and hospital policies and procedures, as well as with federal, state, local and ACHC regulations. Work with local and state elected officials on policy/advocacy issues.
    • Regular reporting accountability to the UMHW Hospital Operations Council (COO, CMO, CNO) and actively participates in the CNWM Management Operations Committee and CNWM Finance Committee.
    • Provides leadership and mentoring that promotes development and growth of employees. Responsible for hiring, coaching conversations and disciplining of subordinate staff.
    • Performs other duties as assigned. These may include but are not limited to: Maintaining a current knowledge base of department processes, protocols and procedures, pursuing self-directed learning and continuing education opportunities, and participating on committees, task forces, and work groups as determined by management.
