Contracts Administration Director jobs in Lansing, MI

Contracts Administration Director is responsible for all activities in the organization's contracts administration function. Oversees the preparation of proposals, negotiations, and the administration of contracts that follow company policies and legal requirements. Being a Contracts Administration Director directs and develops policies and processes that govern the contract administration staff and provide guidance on contract terms and the assessment of contract proposals. Has deep knowledge of the contract life cycle, types of contracts, and applicable government regulations. Additionally, Contracts Administration Director leads negotiations for complex or high-value contracts. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Sometimes requires certification like the NCMA Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM). Typically reports to senior management. The Contracts Administration Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Contracts Administration Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    • Minimum associate degree preferred four-year degree.
    • 1-2 years or more experience within material management and sales leadership.
    • Must be able to pass pre-employment screenings including background checks.

    Additional Requirements/Skills/Knowledge

    • Strong verbal, written, and interview skills.
    • Very efficient with ability to complete assigned tasks and deliverables by end of day.
    • Organizational, notes taking, retention and summation skills.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Teams.
    • Work through and adapt to competing time sensitive priorities.
    • Physical ability to lift 30 Lb boxes and perform materials management tasks.
    • Provide exemplary personable interaction with all.
    • Comfortable with routinely shifting demands.
    • Good ability to troubleshoot general office equipment.
    • Previous experience using an ERP system preferred.
