Has deep knowledge of the contract life cycle, types of contracts, and applicable government regulations. The Director of Sponsored Programs is vital support to the Henry C. Lee College of Criminal Justice and Forensic Sciences initiatives to enhance research opportunities, increase external support for institutional priorities and needs, and facilitate activities and collaborations within the University and with external partners. This position assists the Dean, Faculty, Principal Investigators (PIs), Project Directors (PDs) and others with various activities related to the identification of external funding, development and preparation of proposals, the submission of proposals, and the submission and management of grants and contracts. This position works closely and in conjunction with the Universitys Office of Grants and Sponsored Programs and the Director of Finance for Grants and Sponsored Programs.

The Director of Sponsored Programs Administration for the Henry C. Lee College is required to have extensive experience in identifying potential external funding sources, the preparation and submission of grant/contracts including narratives, preparation of budgets and other supporting documents, and the processing and submission of grant/contract applications. Given the focus area of the College, extensive experience in securing external funding from justice and law enforcement related funding sources and sponsor agencies, is highly desired, particularly federal USDOJ, Dept. of State, Dept. of Homeland Security, and state counterparts. A full understanding of the special conditions and post-award requirements of these departments in particular is highly desirable. Familiarity with other related - funding sources is desirable, such as HHS, NIH, NSF, private foundations, etc. Experience with Uniform Guidance and other federal grant compliance is expected. Experience in the development of contracts and other forms of agreements is desirable. Superior document preparation skills are required. The incumbent must have the interpersonal skills required to deal with a wide variety of individuals including faculty, staff, students, constituent/partner organizations and professionals from outside the university. A Bachelors Degree is required for this position. Previous experience working with a justice agency is highly desirable.
