    About the Role

    We are looking for a qualified General Office Administrative Assistant / Payroll Assistant to assist in all activities related to clerical office tasks and with the management of employee compensation in the company. You will undertake a variety of tasks such as basic bookkeeping, filing, entering payroll information, calculating wages and making payments.

    An excellent general office administrative assistant / payroll assistant has great understanding of the concept of confidentiality. You will be experienced in entering data with attention to detail and will have good math skills to make the necessary calculations. You must be a team player who is, hardworking, reliable and diligent. Further you must be familiar with office equipment. The ideal candidate will be a thorough professional with good communication abilities.

    The goal is to carry out all office duties and payroll procedures with speed and accuracy.

    Responsibilities

    • Maintain files and records so they remain updated and easily accessible.
    • Utilize office appliances such as photocopier, printers etc. and computers for word processing, spreadsheet creation etc.
    • Undertake basic bookkeeping tasks
    • Monitor stocks of office supplies (paper clips, stationery etc.) and report when there are shortages
    • Help manage compensation packages using payroll software
    • Collect and verify timekeeping information for employees
    • Calculate pay according to hours worked incorporating leaves and overtime
    • Manage and calculate taxes and deductions
    • Update paper and electronic payroll records by entering adjustments on pay rates, employee status changes etc.
    • Help deal with questions regarding payroll from employees and upper management
    • Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in payroll
    • Prepare and submit reports with payroll information to supervisor

    Requirements and skills

    • Proven experience as office clerk or other clerical position and proven experience as payroll clerk or payroll manager
    • Familiarity with office procedures and general accounting principles
    • Experience in data collection, entry and reporting with great attention to detail and confidentiality
    • Solid knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and regulations
    • Computer savvy with working knowledge of relevant software
    • Exquisite math and numerical skills
    • Outstanding organizational and time management skills
    • Excellent communication abilities with aptitude in problem-solving
    • High school diploma or equivalent; BS/BA in accounting/business administration is a plus

    Physical Demands

    • Occasional lifting to 50 lbs, and mobility throughout a manufacturing facility and office areas.
    • Overtime hours may be required to meet project deadlines.
