    Position Summary:

    The School of Medicine has recently completed construction on a new cGMP Facility, following Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs). A cGMP facility is a production facility for the manufacturing of pharmaceutical or cellular products. It includes the manufacturing space, the storage warehouse for raw and finished product and support laboratory areas, including quality control and quality assurance programs, to control collection, processing, storage, and release of cell therapy products. At UCI, the cGMP facility will enable clinical trials of cell therapeutics, including stem cell populations and bone marrow transplantation, as well as Chimeric Antigen Receptor (CAR) T-cells. The facility includes a seven-room GMP cellular therapy and viral vector facility, with an adjacent quality control laboratory.

    Supervisor, Administration & Finance will provide daily support for the accounting and financial activities of the GMP Facility. Responsibilities include managing project billing for projects, utilizing the campus financial tools and systems for UC clients and external clients, ensuring compliance with UC business and accounting policies. Provides other financial operational support, including purchasing, payroll, fiscal close, and reports regarding financial solvency of the unit. Provides support for pre- and post-award grant administration, including developing project budgets, setting up accounts, and ensuring compliance with financial requirements. Hybrid schedule.

    $81,900.00 - $150,500.00 (Annual Salary) Expected Pay Range within the Full Salary Range $81,891.36 - $150,503.04 (Annual Salary)

     

    Required:

    • 2 year experience working in an academic medical setting (preferred) • 2 years experience with financial, purchasing, personnel, and payroll systems (required)

    • Bachelor's degree in related area (Finance, Accounting) and / or equivalent experience / training. Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.

    Thorough knowledge of finance policies, practices, and systems. Experience with financial, purchasing, personnel, and payroll systems Solid knowledge of the organization's processes, protocols and procedures with a focus on budget, account and fund management and / or personnel management within labor contract(s) and personnel policy. Ability to independently gather required information to organize and perform financial analysis assignments. Comprehensive knowledge of finance and budget policies, practices and systems; budgeting and reporting techniques; fund accounting; accounting and bookkeeping Solid knowledge of common organization-specific and other computer application programs. Proven ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing in a clear and concise manner. Solid interpersonal skills including verbal and written communication, active listening, critical thinking, persuasiveness, advising, and counseling to effectively motivate others. Proven ability using spreadsheet and database software for complex financial analysis, fiscal management, and financial reports. Strong computer skills using MS Office Suite: Excel, Word, and PowerPoint Solid skills to quickly evaluate complex issues and identify resolutions. Proven interpersonal skills with peers throughout the organization; strong service orientation and critical thinking skills; and attention to detail. Proven ability using organizational skills to multi-task in a high-volume environment. Solid organizational and customer service skills to effectively manage multiple priorities. Ability to adapt to changing priorities. Self-motivated, efficient and possess strong time management skills to adhere to established project deadlines. Solid knowledge of financial analysis and reporting techniques; human resources and risk management planning; accounting and payroll. Ability to function as a member of a team. Demonstrated skills in employee supervision and HR administration. Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality of financial and personnel matters

     

    Preferred:

    Thorough knowledge and understanding of internal control practices and their impact on protecting University resources. Working knowledge of University general accounting, contract, grant accounting, and purchasing policies and procedures Experience working in an academic medical setting. Experience with post-award management of Contracts & Grants, including direct and indirect costing principles. Experience with billing, recharge rates, and sales & services activities
