  • Summary

    The Superintendent will be responsible for supervising the field working on commercial interior construction projects and new builds, including organization, planning, and scheduling, in order to complete the work on time, within budget, and to quality specified. The Superintendent will also assist in bidding, buy-out, change order management and possess strong carpentry skills and the ability to pick up tools and work on the job site if required.

    Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement site planning, logistics and procedures for the execution of the work.
    • Develop and implement quality assurance and control procedures.
    • Ensure the work performed complies with all requirements of the contract documents and specifications.
    • Achieves operational objectives by contributing information and recommendations to strategic plans and reviews; preparing and completing action plans; implementing production, productivity, quality and customer service standards; resolving problems; determining improvements; implementing change.
    • Develop and implement project schedules identifying the critical path including the expediting of scheduled critical materials and equipment for their timely delivery to site.
    • Coordinate, direct, and monitor the activities of subcontractors, suppliers, direct labor and material.
    • Assist in obtaining all necessary permits for temporary use and construction purposes.
    • Coordinate as required the activities of inspection agencies.
    • Ability to communicate professionally with owners, clients, prospects, architects, inspectors, etc.
    • Establish and enforce a comprehensive project safety & security program as defined in the company safety program and in accordance with all applicable safety codes and regulations.
    • Assist in the review and approval of all subcontractor and vendor payment applications.
    • Coordinate and participate or direct in site meetings.
    • Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
    • Perform other duties and take on other responsibilities as required.

    Skills, Education and Experience

    • Commercial interior construction experience is a must!
    • A minimum of 5 years tools on commercial carpentry experience
    • Minimum High School diploma required, College degree or coursework preferred.
    • Candidate should have at least 2 years of experience working in a managing role in commercial construction.
    • Demonstrated ability to develop and manage budget, schedule, people, and quality of work at multiple projects/sites.
    • Strong organizational skills
    • Excellent communication skills (both written and oral).
    • Ability to work within a team environment and able to adapt to changes quickly in a fast-paced environment.
    • Belief and demonstration of company core values of Service, Expertise, Community and Fun.
    • Ability to make competent use of work-related equipment and materials.
    • Ability to communicate effectively and tactfully with others.
    • Cooperative, team-oriented, patient, calm under pressure.
    • Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality.
    • Strong computer skills are required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
    • Computer and construction software systems experience preferred.
    • Ability to produce results in an autonomous environment, within company guidelines and have the flexibility to identify and respond to changes in priorities.

    Pay: $52,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
