The Controller will oversee all financial activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and managing financial risks.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Oversee all accounting operations, including ledger accounts, financial statements, and cost control systems.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings, with a focus on California cannabis industry regulations.
• Develop and monitor budgeting processes, financial forecasting, and strategic planning.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Coordinate with external auditors for annual audit processes.
• Provide financial analysis and guidance on growth, efficiency, and profitability improvements.
• Manage and supervise the accounting team to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
• Stay updated on trends and regulations in the cannabis industry to ensure financial and regulatory compliance.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

• Full-time position, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week.
• Requires working a minimum of two days at the Warehouse in Cotati.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial leadership role, with a preference for experience in the cannabis industry or other regulated industries.
• Strong understanding of GAAP, as well as financial regulations specific to the cannabis industry in California.
• Proven experience in financial management, budgeting, and internal controls.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
• Detail-oriented with an analytical mindset.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $110,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
