The Controller is a full-time on-site position located at the main headquarters in Perrysburg, OH. The Controller will report into the President/CEO.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Controller will plan and execute the accounting operations of the company. The main responsibilities include general accounting duties, accounts receivable (A/R), accounts payable (A/P), general ledger activity, check processing, reviewing and assisting with preparation of company financial statements, collections and invoicing.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Support the vision, mission, and guiding principles of the company.
• Follow all procedures relating to internal accounting in order to maintain the company's financial security.
• Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures; implements a system of controls over accounting transactions to minimize risk.
• Oversees the production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
• Timely payment of all income taxes, sales and use taxes, and employment taxes.
• Serve as the primary contact with the company's independent accountants and manage the company's monthly and annual reviews.
• Serve as a point of contact with the company's bankers and insurance brokers.
• Works with external auditors and provides needed information for financial statement or audit preparation.
• Develop internal cost analyses and other tools to provide management with meaningful and timely information to analyze and improve operational performance.
• Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
• Manage the A/R and A/P process on a daily basis by entering invoices and applying payments. Provide a weekly 90-day rolling cash forecast and A/R and A/P spreadsheet for management review.
• Complete A/R & A/P month end closing process within two business days of a new month.
• Ensure a 30-day controlled cycle is maintained for accounting, account management and financial statement preparation.
• Perform weekly check runs and ensuring payments are meeting company policy A/R terms.
• Prepare and mail invoices to customers, posting payments to customer accounts and reconciling cash receipts and deposits.
• Work in e-Quantum to enter, access, retrieve, process and post data daily for A/P and A/R, billing and projects as needed.
• Leverage accounting tools and dashboards to maintain consistent and accurate A/R and cash management practices.
• Ensure cash spreadsheet and accurate AR/AP reporting is circulated weekly.
• Maintain and reconcile excel checkbook and credit card activity.
• Manage, input and process cash receipts on a daily basis.
• Update and post WIP inventory report daily.
• Maintain vendor listing and contractor W9's.
• Ensure client statements are circulated on a monthly basis.
• Manage client credit availability on a weekly basis.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
• Strong knowledge of GAAP
• At least five years' experience in an accounting role
• Experience working in e-Quantum or comparable software. Ability to learn new software.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Lifting, carrying up to 25 pounds (Occasionally)
• Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
