JOB SUMMARY : The Cook 1 is responsible for supporting the Food & Beverage department culinary team by preparing food before the cooking stage and preparing and cooking additionally menu items as directed.
Duties include safe food preparation and maintaining a clean and organized work space under the direction of a Sous Chef or Lead Line Cook.
To perform duties of this position successfully, a Cook 1 must meet expectations in the execution of the ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

EXPERIENCE : 3 to 6 months’ experience in a commercial restaurant kitchen is required . Restaurant experience to include food preparation, e.
g., preparing and cutting vegetables, soup making, salad preparation, and making sauces and gravies.
LANGUAGE SKILLS : Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of guests or associates of organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS : Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY : Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
